Sounds great, and it's kind of all-inclusive.
Reba McEntire's new song "Stronger Than The Truth"
From her up-coming new studio album "Stronger Than The Truth"
I really like this album, it's very rich in sound and production, maybe it's going to dominate my Madness Top 10.
The instrumentation of Blackbird sounds like a Mowtown song from the 70s, I can almost hear it, I can almost sing it..but I still haven't figured out what it is.
"Baby, Don't Change Your Mind", or something like that.
That's great! The chimey bits remind me of ’The Night’ by Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. Don't know if that's what you're thinking of...
I just googled Blackbird. They wrote it about meeting Amy Winehouse.
I still don't know...maybe it's Sittin On The Dock Of The Bay, but it wouldn't be the first time I hear SOTDOTB in another song.
Not because it's my favourite song, but there's something about that combination of music notes, like a mathematical formula that defines the principle of all pop music.
Short but sweet. I couldn't stop nodding my head to the music.
Funny, this week it actually is a Gladys Knight & The Pips song - a new remix, to be precisely.
Goodness, he's not holding back, is he? But there's no other way to do it without losing the essence of the song, I guess.
My FNDTW is a traditional retro-something
One thing I've learnt from the soapchat music threads and my personal mass YouTube sessions is that there's a lot of retro (any genre) coming from the US.
They may not be Billboard champions but there's definitely a taste for everything other than the typical country and R&B music that has dominated the US charts for so many decades.
This is great, I just found him on Spotify. How did you discover/find him?
Oh, is it a him? I assumed it was a them. I think I came across him/them/it on a 'Best of 2018' list somewhere.
Ha! I typed them as I was listening to the song and then when I found him on Spotify I read who he was.
That song reminded me of a band from a few years back which I couldn't remember.
Now I have remembered
Have you been listening to the full album?
I'm really enjoying it.
Not the whole thing yet but I like what I've heard.
