I also really liked Harve Smithfield.
Tilly the caterer, played by Irma P. Hall also made an impression on me.

Apart from his less than pearly white smile, I’ve always been intrigued by his claim that Hagman had a role in Corbin’s departure from the show.

One of my favourite character actors is John Randolph, just good in anything he ever did and never more so than as Serpicos boss in Serpico and in A foriegn Field with Alec Guiness and Leo Mckern

Im just sorry he didnt appear more often in Dallas as Miss Ellies divorce laywer Lincoln Hargrove

I also loved his real life wife Sarah Cunningmham as Aunt Maggie in Dallas

Other less seen favs included Jordan Lee/Don Starr
harve Smithfield / George O Petrie and
    John Zaremba as Dr danvers

all excellent in their roles and added much to the Dallas history

Fenton always sounded to me like he had the most natural Texas accent of anyone on the show. Some of the other actors sounded a bit more like they were putting on a “Southern” or “Western” stage accent, but Corbin sure sounded like a native. (Susan Howard was also a native, and Larry spent at least part of his formative years there, so they of course were 'naturals' too)

I have a predilection for the one (or two)-episode hookers that appeared on "Dallas". We all know that Serena was the hooker queen, and that Mandy Winger was "the natural born hooker (or tramp)". Here are some:

    - The gay girls from "The Blue Onion". During the battle for Ewing Oil, Bobby received the visit of his pal from the 3 B´s era Dagget, who came with the one and only Millie Laverne. Then Bobby picked up pretty Wendy (who reminded me of Ann-Margret) to pull his Driscoll scheme.

    - Serena´s co-worker Monica Colby. When Bobby and Pam were separating, J.R. concocted a very twisted plot to make Pam believe his brother already was celebrating it. He asked Serena to take "a friend", a Diane Kelley from Houston, who looked suspiciously like Tracy Scoggins...with lighter hair. Of course, she went on to become Harv´s granddaughter Anita in the two awful telemovies.

    - Rhonda Cummings and her "daughter". Her surname says it all. J.R. used her old friend´s "alum" to blackmail a civil servant and cause trouble to Cliff, as usual. The girl in question was played by Michelle Johnson, who also went straight to the second telemovie as Bobby´s (much younger) love interest.

    - And from TNT´s "Dallas", who can forget sweet Candace, the one with the long-nail hands and the mission of getting John Ross´s "seed" at whatever price...though she was a semi-recurring I think.

There were others, but these ones left an indelible mark...

I loved Muriel, and Sheriff Washburn, and Sally Bullock (#2, the beautiful Joanna Cassidy). And let’s not forget mother-from-hell Patricia Shepherd (Martha Scott). Scotty Demarest was great too. How could you not love all these great character actors. They gave Dallas so much flavor.

I was very disappointed when Barry Corbin turned up on TNT Dallas and was NOT playing Fenton Washburn.

    I love:

Harv - cos he's great with 'the boys' and loyal to the family
Scotty Demerest - cos he's a hardass and I love his accent
Dr Danvers - cos he keeps Sue Ellen calm
Dr Danver's sedatives - cos they keep Sue Ellen calm
Punk and Mavis - cos they rock
Jessica Montford - one of the truly best baddies Dallas ever saw
Harry McSween - cos he's a dirty cop
Patricia Shepard (LOOK WHAT SHE GAVE ME FROM HER OVARIES!!!) :love6:
    Aunt Maggie
    Aunt Lil
Naldo Marchetta - cos he's smoooooooooooooth and really creepy
Muriel - cos she's loyal to Lucy
Paul Morgan - cos he loves Donna
Dave Culver - cos he loves Donna and he's a nice guy

I don't like Washburn because he always brought bad news especially for Sue Ellen but he is a brilliant actor. Has anyone seen him in Stir Crazy?

Thanks to Dallas Decoder for the pic. (If you think about it and have ever watched Poltergeist 2, you can just imagine her coming up the Southfork Driveway, singing that scary tune.....) :eck:

I always thought Scotty sounded most natural (aside from Larry of course!) but he's actually a New Yorker so I don't know if his accent was part of the role. Did you know he was married to Mavis?

One of my favorites I forgot to mention: the rugged Hank Johnson, JR's man in the Far East
