The more I see this the more I think it sounds like a Welsh seaside resort.
The fourth Ellie:
In the interest of balance, here's the other actor who played Bobby:
I love Bobby but simply because Miss Ellie is the heart of Southfork and the family and for everything she did to try to hold that mad family together, my vote goes to MISS ELLIE as played by Barbara Bel Geddes.
Plus Bobby didn’t do himself any favours with me by befriending Holly Harwood, so, karma time Bob!
Today is the last day of the World Cup of Dallas before the winner is declared tomorrow.
You can continue to vote for your winner between Miss Ellie and Bobby until midnight UK time.
You can vote by posting on this thread the name of your preferred winner, as normal. Alternatively, if you want to keep everyone in suspense over who the final winner will be, you can vote by "secret" ballot by sending the name of your choice winner to me by direct message.
The "secret" votes will be revealed along with the name of the overall winner by our special guest at the tomorrow's presentation of the World Cup.
I love both characters, but my vote goes for Miss Ellie. She is strong, confident, loyal and loving and she should be the winner just for putting up with Jock and JR.
Love Bobby my favorite second to Pam because of his love for family and loyalty and his beating up of JR when necessary and for him not being afraid to stand up to Jock. He lost my vote though due to his personality change after Pam left and not going to search for her( it was like he didn't give a s**t and never loved her) bedding lot of women and hooking up with April !
I've always had the theory this personality change (in Bobby) was forced onto the character by those clever behind the scenes people. When Victoria made the decision to leave - permanently - the producers influenced the writers in their attempts at erasing all memory of Pam.
This sums up perfectly how I feel about JR after Sue Ellen left.
They failed. All it did was annoy viewers and lose more believability. He came back from
the dead AND he is not interested at all in the live of his life?! Certainly not the bobby of the first seven seasons (and ninth). Two boo boo’s Bobby, one season after another.
Same with JR. Wearing cardigans, accepting family members without a blood test and marrying children from Arkansas.
I wish you had given us this option at the beginning of the week. Then this could have been exciting. Now not so much as it looks like a done deal to me.
Also it's odd the Bobby and JR that you are all complaining about was the ones I saw first as I saw the final 4 seasons of the show first.
I deliberately didn't give this option earlier because part of the game is for others to see the reasons why people vote for a particular character which wouldn't have been the case had everyone voted secretly. I think the comments and debates between forum members is what makes it more interesting that say a kill off a particular character or an ABC of a particular subject game. I think the game should be more than just finding a winner but be a vehicle to encourage interaction between forum members.
Are there any members who haven't voted yet?
I'm currently re-watching Bobby in the immediate Post-Pam era where he's juggling Lisa, Tammy and April, and I kind of like it. I get that it wasn't a wholly satisfactory transition, but it's very interesting to see him not solely defined by his relationship with Pam. Now he's a man, with all the flaws and complexities that go along with being a man, rather than just a romantic hero (Romeo to her Juliet). This unquantifiably bizarre and terrible thing -- Pam's accident and its aftermath -- happened to him and he reacted as the show required him to ... but where does that leave him as a character? Who is he now? As I say, it's very interesting to watch the character develop -- especially knowing that New DALLAS-era Bobby is where we're eventually heading.
It's 10pm US so I probably missed the deadline but I'll say it just in case.
To my surprise, when I saw the final two options, I went with Miss Ellie.
That's it, the poll has now closed on the World Cup of Dallas and the votes have been counted and verified. The result will be announced later today at the cup presentation at the Oil Barons' Club.
A few weeks ago we wrote to the winner of last year's World Cup of Falcon Crest to invited her to present the cup to the Dallas victor:

Sadly, you missed the deadline by 2 hours but come back later to see if it would have made a difference when the winner is revealed.
May I ask Karin how that came about?
"Do you need any for the day after?"
