After Fallon has her "Peter-dumped-me" injury outside La Mirage and then is rendered paraplegic psychiatrically, the nurse comes into her room just before Fallon is to be discharged and refers three times about Fallon's magnificent outfit, in a very 1984 way.

    It's so stupid.

And then Fallon is rendered un-paraplegic psychiatrically as Little Blake wanders too close to the pool when his motorized little toy truck becomes submerged, and Jeff runs out, sees L.B. is standing beside this sparkling well of death and yells: "Oh, my God!" as Fallon shrieks and darts from her wheelchair, the boy's parents behaving as if Jeffrey Dahmer is manning an ice cream van just outside the mansion...

Well, no wonder Pamela Sue skipped town away from this crap. Maybe I'm imagining it, but she just seems humiliated in so many of her foolishly-written Season 4 scenes.

So many great people just wasted by the staff scripters so unrelentingly.

Who wouldn't want to jump ship after all those ridiculous post-coital coke-snorting scenes and the endless handwringing over the horse

And did Season 4's violet-strewn Lancelot plot make any sense...? Spoiler alert.... Turns out the seedy private eye, Hess, was trying to frame Alexis for the plot, so when Blake shows up, Hess immediately and unnecessarily confesses that he was trying to frame Alexis (instead of just keeping the finger-pointing going at Alexis) and then appears at Alexis' apartment to pick up some hush money and she's almost civil. Then you learn he's working with Sammy Jo -- did she devise the violets plan?? And if so, what role did blaming Alexis come into it, since Hess cleared her right away as his intended blame-victim?

    What am I missing here?

BTW: I see that Fallon's, Kirby's, and Sammy Jo's rooms are all the conservatory set re-dressed. How exhausting for the crew!

I always assume that Sammy Jo concocted the plan as payback to Claudia for marrying Steven and humiliating her in court.

I think she mentions that to Hess in a seedy scene when she's eating pizza in bed with him.

Yes, but where does the "Hess frames Alexis for it" fit in when he gives up that angle right away, when he could stick to it?

It's all the more bizarre when you realize that Sammy Jo used dialogue from Oil, to try and gaslight Claudia. If you can gaslight someone who already has a history of ilnness?

What's even more bizarre is that Alexis then show's up to LB's birthday party in the middle of this "Violets" plot dressed as a f*cking posy of violets. Her dress is printed with bunches of them, she has posy of violets in the brim of her hat. It's like she's taunting Claudia. Nobody mentions it. This always made me believe that they really didn't know who was going to be revealed to be behind it and it ended up Sammy Jo just for the surprise plot element that they were so fond of.

Oh my god, I wonder what other plot lines were based on the outfits.
Was Nolan Miller the "David Lynch" of Dynasty?

Is nobody reading my posts ?
I already stated that the scene with Alexis and Hess in "the birthday" was shot twice. In the first version, it was made clear that Alexis paid Hess for driving Claudia crazy as she blamed him for having failed. The scene was reshot later and in the final version that we got, Alexis blamed him fro trying to frame her.

At the last minute, the Pollocks thought Alexis was a too obvious culprit so they edited the story and made Sammy Jo the schemer. It was really poorly done as 1) we never found out how Sammy Jo, who lived most of the time in New York, met Morgan Hess 2) Why Hess did not blame Alexis when Blake found him since framing Alexis was the reason for his plot ?

I thought it was Mother Blaisdel (like Priscilla Pointer in Knots Landing). Or was that another storyline? Or one of our fan-made alterations?

So...Sammy Jo's revenge wasn't really about gaslighting Claudia, but gaslighting Alexis as the culprit in Claudia's gaslighting drama? How twisty!

Actually, I think that Hess wanted to frame Alexis but Sammy Jo wanted to frame Claudia.

It would have been more clever if, as you almost suggested, Hess wanted to frame Alexis and Mother Blaisdel wanted to frame Claudia.

Also, Hess should have blamed Alexis in front of Blake, which would have created some feud between Steven and Alexis for a fex episodes. Then Alexis would have summoned Hess to her penthouse and he would have admitted to falsely accused Alexis, unaware that Steven was hidden in the staircase and heard everything.

Is Steven actually feeling her pulse, because she may have died from a phonecall?
    upload_2020-6-27_13-7-55.png
These cliffhangers look so lame and cliché.

Knots did it much better when Jill faked the phonecall from Ben.

I don't think I had read your post, I just always had that thought from the first time I had seen that episode. Alexis' outfit at the party always seemed a little too on the nose to not be intentional.

Well, when the episode was shot, Alexis was still supposed to be the cultrpit, so it makes sense. The scene with Hess was reshot some weeks after.

I think he was fearing that she was going to have another breakdown (and maybe confuse Danny with a teddy bear ?)

Kate O'Mara later said the producers admitted that they made the show up as they went along -- not a good idea for a serial, but painfully obvious.

It's funny -- rewatching this era of the show yet again, the physical clunkiness no longer jumps out at me, and Linda's shriekiness -- which once seemed so apparent by late-Season 3 -- no longer seems a problem until late-S4 and certainly S5.

But the overall feeling of rambling dumbishness prevails.

In the last couple of weeks, I've marathon-watched Season 9 followed by Season 3 thru 5.

And the key problem remains: they simply will not tell the tale. No one is allowed to actually talk about the plotlines. (Except for S9, of course). It's so passive-aggressively frustrating.

She was burned out. She had too much of everything. :byee:

That fooking house makes me crazy! I can't watch the show anymore without being hypnotized by the background. I always thought there were more than one corridor/floor. :(
