Too bad Richard Burton was never on a soap opera as he easily would have gotten my number one vote on this.

    Oh well:

    1. Ann Ewing (Dallas)
After all she did all of Desperate Housewives narrating.

    2. Blake (Dynasty)
Because he always called the angels... ;)

    3. Howard Keel (Dallas)
Great singer and also great speaking voice.

    4. Alexis (Dynasty)
    Because of her English accent.

    5. Sue Ellen Ewing (Dallas)
Love that Linda narrated her own audio book.

Oh yeah the Diana book. I remember I got that for Christmas back in 1992 and I had finished reading it by New Years I think. I loved it. That book turned me into a Diana fan although I didn't realize it until much later.

Cool that Stephanie Beacham narrated it. I didn't know that! :)

I'm not a keen audiobook person, but I rather like the idea of an audio version of Many Lives narrated by Steph.

Perhaps with an audio introduction by Bill Roache. For completion, you understand.

Surprised that I seem to be the only one liking Krystle's voice. I disliked the character and her hairstyle, but I do like Linda's voice.

Apropos of Sable's Many Lives, a friend of mine recently interviewed a bunch of Brides of Dracula together for an upcoming documentary including La Beacham, Joanna Lumley, Jenny Hanley, Caroline Munroe etc. He wasn't sure how they'd all be with each other but apparently, they got on like a (Hammer) house on fire, especially Beacham, Lumley and Hanley who'd done a film together in 1970 or thereabouts and were very excited to be reunited after nearly fifty years.

Then someone else said they'd directed Beacham in a play, found her "challenging" in rehearsal, but that she absolutely came up trumps when the show opened and apologised for being difficult. He thinks she's great but likes to "shake the tree", which is a very nice phrase, I think.

I'm very intrigued about the documentary. Hope it's something that's accessible to watch and not tucked away on a very expensive Blu-ray box set or something.*

It is, and perfectly descriptive. With those few words I get exactly what he meant.

*Although on second thoughts another set of Hammer films would be no hardship to get stuck into.

I think it'll probably be a BBC4 thing. I know that it's tied in with the BBC's new Dracula series. Not sure when it'll be on though.

Great to see The Colbys get another win.

And it's a big win as well. Almost twice as many points as Donna's Dallas drawl.

I know we're doing this by show, but Sable is also doing very well as a character. Best turban, best return and best voice. It would be interesting (maybe if The Battles ever come to an end, which I hope won't be soon) to work out which characters are coming tops.

Maybe we could save that one for the final battle, without voting of course.

    About 2005
Pam is doing very well. She’s won about six battles or so (a few characters have) plus come second a couple of times too :)
