I've only just become interested in this case again after watching the TV series with Cuba Gooding JR and Sarah Paulsen.

I remember when this happened but in those days we didn't have access to the information we do now or the tv channels. I have always always thought OJ was guilty but it seems to have come into the public eye again with some people believing him innocent of the murder of Nicole. I know he is also due for parole this year from the bank robbery.

Does anyone else have an interest in the case? Do you think he's innocent of murder?

I remember my granny was absolutely addicted to it :tv: I don't remember it all being on, but I remember the car chase and the start of the trial.

It was definitely shown here. Maybe on BBC2? I remember watching the trial when we moved into our new house.

I thought he was guilty at the time and that hasn't changed.

Oh, it was ubiquitous at the time, the coverage. But the case became, along with the celebrity angle, an issue of race which was in response to the Simi Valley verdict from a couple of years earlier (one of the most destructive moments in race relations is recent decades, and had everything to do with OJ's acquittal).

Up until the Simi Valley verdict, there was actually much less tension between blacks and whites in, say, the workplace during the '70s and '80s. The attitude from African Americans was essentially "I'm fine with you, it's The Man and the system I'm suspicious of." But after the Simi Valley verdict, it became much more personal -- if you had a white face, you now were the Man. And we never got away from that over the last 25 years in America.

And nobody ever really talks about that particular turning point except as an isolated, unfortunate event. But the OJ thing was fallout from all of that.

I recently finished watching the eight hour documentary OJ: Made in America. It's one of the most powerful, compelling things I've ever seen.

It's kind of mindblowing. It won Oscars and stuff. Unfortunately, I think it's just falling off the iPlayer as we speak ...

We got summaries of the trial in Sweden, and I have never doubted that he's guilty.
Who else would have done it?! Who else would have had the opportunity?
As many cops & prosecuters say: "hate coincidences".

By the way, you can get convicted of murder yourself even if you paid a hitman to do the actual killing, right?

I watched the majority of the trial live on CNN! I was a student at the time and was able to juggle both my studies and the trial of the century! ;)

When it was time for the jury to "take over", I wasn't convinced that OJ was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt! However, just because I didn't think that the prosecution met its burden of proof (beyond a reasonable doubt), doesn't nescessarily mean that I think that OJ was innocent!

There were quite a few things that left me "puzzled" in the trial. It's been almost 25 years, and I don't remember the details. But I do remember that the L.A.P.D. did a poor job at the crime scene (and elsewhere). And the defence team had several experts who were able to cast so much doubt into various aspects that it just left too many questions in my mind. Thus, I was left with reasonable doubt!

I'm not able to cast my vote in this poll, since neither of the three choices "fits" with my point of view!

I have a question. How can you NOT be guilty but your innocence HASN'T been proven??

Because you're innocent until proven guilty. Not the other way round.

I just finished the series American Crime Story and I'm just speechless. Oh not about the verdict, but speechless and amazed how fantastic this series is. The production, the cast - it's hard to pick a favourite performance.
But this wasn't OJ Simpson's story, this was the story of all those people who were involved with the case.
I didn't know much about the trial, so that was an added bonus.

I do remember glancing at the screen when they showed the white Bronco, but honestly in those days the only thing I cared for was the weekend, and the dance charts.
Besides, I had never heard of OJ Simpson before so "whateva!"

The ongoing plot twists in the courtroom made this a very binge-worthy series. Some things were just unbelievable like if it happened on a soap we'd be complaining because it feels so contrived.

I though I made this point first, but turns out Mark Twain said it a century earlier: "Truth is stranger than fiction because fiction has to make sense."
