Just thought this thread would need to be posted.
What an incredibly fun promo. A catfight between a mother and a daughter? The reboot scores again. The show needs to get more and more addictively trashy like this.
And it hasn't been done before, although Paige and Anne Matheson could have done it.
It looks funny, like when Cristal pushed Fallon into the open grave - addictive trash indeed. I think Fallon's fury is the best part (also when she slaps Steven) and one of the main points of the NuDynasty discussions is that it looks as if they don't care. If they can fix that (and that's how it looks in this snippet) then I'm ready to roll again.
But they really have to sell it (trash or not) and continue to do so.
Episode 15 was surprisingly entertaining, so I'm getting a little bit more optimistic.
"Don't you dare." Looks like Cristal got her Christmas gift a few months early. But hey, no Dynasty season is complete without a catfight in a reflecting pool. That could not have possibly been comfortable, since they were filming in Atlanta in...January, maybe?
Love that open-mouthed, stunned reaction from Liam when Fallon slapped Steven. His reaction was even more fun than Sam's. Of course, Sam might be accustomed to it all by now, and poor Liam is just learning.
Somehow it reminds me of Harriet & Nellie Oleson who had a big argument during a contest (which they thought they were going to win, of course).
"I don't want this stupid restaurant!"
LHOTP prepared me for the 80s soaps.
All joking aside, Alexis looks like she's going to be fun. I'm interested to see what'll become of Cristal if the focus shifts to Fallon and Alexis.
Especially if she brings out the worst (=best) out of the other characters.
I think the "cool chick" approach works the best for this Krystle and maybe it's a good thing to seperate her from Fallon for a while. If she becomes the show's perspective character then maybe it'll make her look more likeable.
Keep in mind that the pre-publicity for NuDynasty said that the emphasis in this new version would be the rivalry between Cristal and Fallon for the love and attention of Blake. We saw how quickly their rivalry cooled off; Cristal ended up giving Fallon away at the wedding!
This never happened. Fallon wanted Carrington-Atlanta, that's how it all begun began.

Why call it Dynasty? It’s nothing to do with Dynasty at all.
....except it completely is.
Well, it shows that even if the show can't fix itself, they fixed the promos.
I watched the last two episodes and I will also watch the next one. I will then decide if it is worth to keep with it.
Yeah, I agree. But it may become a show worth a chance on its own merits.
The last two episodes reminded me of both the things I liked and things I hated about GOSSIP GIRL--namely how the showrunners demanded emotional investment after giving the audience caricatures for the whole season, but for a while the emotional depth worked. And then the bottom would fall from the barrel again.
Idk how anybody can say it has nothing to do with Dynasty. It’s much more true to the source material than Dallas’ reboot. Even someone as minor as Mrs Gunnerson still exists in this universe. They’ve been homage to many storylines from the original and fleshed them out. Brought back characters like Ted and Tom and giving you a fresh spin on them as well. It’s very Dynasty IMO. The main thing missing are the galas it was known for, but it has the humor, glamour, bed hopping and intrigue wrapped in a more coherent plot.
Not sure where to post this, but isn't Liam going to be Adam? That scene in the church where he was asked "aren't you so and so's son" made me think he was scamming Fallon but then I looked on her and was reminded of Fallon and Michael Torrence meeting. In the original they did Kiss without knowing they were brother and sister. But we haven't even seen them kissing at this point. I think Liam could be Adam.
Nice little interview, very nice clip.
Before I forget (as I watch the episode): They actually worked in a KNOTS LANDING reference!
So far I'm interested in NS's take on Alexis.. there is no way she could ever duplicate Joan Collins.. so she's doing her own thing with the character.
I don't think they have the budget for Gala's like they had in the 80s.
(as I watch) Oh, gosh the wardrobe changes!!
(ETA: Better still, does she have anything in chiffon with SCUBA gear underneath?)
I'm happy to see that Fallon seems to still have feelings for Michael. Not sure why he didn't throw her out of his house if he's supposedly still mad at her. But I guess now Michael has to go deal with his dad's health issues. Is this how he's going to be eventually written out? Or is this really his last episode? What a shame if that's the case. I feel like Alexis forced him out.
Honestly Alexis is a real piece of work. I know Fallon can be a lot to deal with sometimes but it disturbs me to see that she seems to hold a lot of contempt for her daughter. Eck. I'd rather Blake stay married to Cristal. As flawed as she is, at least she cares for her family. And she doesn't seem fake.
I'm also surprised that my theory about Steven being in secret contact with Alexis was actually correct.
Also is it weird that Alexis's dog has the same name as the original Krystle?
Separate names with a comma.
