The interview shown below is with Robert Foxworth in 1983. He discusses Jane Wyman; filming in the valley, the coffin lowering into the grave and newcomers for the third season.

Angela is doing her daily routine around the various departments of the winery. Chase and Cole meet her at the stainless steel fermentation tanks, (a scene from season 3, 1983 - '84):

Angela: "....... I've heard about your lawsuit. You'll never get custody of Joseph. It's just a ridiculous waste of time Cole."

Cole: "It won't be so ridiculous when I win."

Angela: "But all you'll succeed in doing is in tearing this family apart."

Chase: "Which is something you have managed to do quite well."

Cole: "I would settle for joint custody. Now that won't hurt the family."

Angela: "If Joseph was your son I would give you my blessing but he isn't the child is Lances."

Cole: "I don't think even you believe that Angela."

Angela looks sternly at Chase: "I suppose you are in favour of this."

Chase: "Joseph is my grandson. I'll do whatever I can to help Cole."

Angela: "He is going to need all the help he can get because I will do whatever it takes to keep Joseph at Falcon Crest."

Angela walks off. Chase and Cole go towards the bottling area.

Why didn't he ask him how it was working with Susan Sullivan as his lovely wifey? :D

Aye it was strange there was no talk about her. Robert mentioned about doing comedy everyday I would have thought Chase was one of the more serious characters.

I had read RF wanted to leave as early as the second season finished but he was encouraged to remain, with the promise of directing episodes.

I used to know Bill Tush's wife. Why doesn't Foxworth mention that??

I wonder was Robert ever interviewed together with Susan? Their co-star David Selby was interviewed maybe twice with her.

Chase was so humorless. And I’ve never seen Robert display any kind of comic ability in the roles I’ve seen him in (granted, I haven’t seen him in a lot).

What’s funny is that Clu Gulager’s Chase, in “The Vintage Years”, was equally humorless. So maybe I shouldn’t blame Robert too much.

He's quite dull, isn't he? That was such a flat interview and that hilarious question "Would you like to do stand up?" Can you imagine that? He would send people to sleep faster than mogadon tablets.

Well, when his hair is so red and curled, he´d look like a Muppet if he just made up a joke...Maybe that´s why...
