I know not a UK soap but near as it can be.

Love Red Rock. It reminds me very much of the Bill in it's early days. It is far to good to be tucked away in the afternoon.

A great cast, great storylines and I am really enjoying watching it.

    Cheers

I'm going away soon, so I hope to pick it up when I return. I wish we had The Bill back on our screens.

Drama are repeating The Bill from the very first episode. They also did a Facebook Live with some of the cast, which I've not had the chance to watch yet.

Thanks for the reminder. I watched the first year or two all kinds of illegally when it first aired in Ireland, but then it got tricker to find and I gave up. Turns out the episodes on the iPlayer coincide with where I left off so I can carry on from there!

I can't imagine it'll be tucked away in the afternoon for much longer. The most recent season that aired in Ireland moved to a 9pm timeslot and the show started including more swearing, sex scenes and violence. The BBC would have to chop the episodes to bits to make them suitable for a daytime slot so I can see it being moved to post watershed. Whether that means primetime or late night remains to be seen.

Coincidentally enough, this was just announced today.

It'd be a shame to see it finish up given that we've so little homegrown drama produced here in Ireland. However, the combination of the filming site being sold and the ITV soaps returning to TV3, is a dangerous one for the show. If ratings stay as they are when it returns, I could see TV3 pulling the plug.

That would be a shame, but it looks as though we will get at least one more series before it ends?

Yeah, what they've filmed up until now will air from early 2018. TV3 will make a decision on it's future then, depending on the ratings.

I think the decision has already been made. The ratings are already decent for a channel like TV3, just maybe not good enough for their investment. This is the second time they've taken it off air suddenly, it's hard to build an audience with that kind of scheduling. And having to change locations will not have helped.

You need to find yourself an Irish dealer...like Barry from EastEnders...

Yup, that's an episode of Red Rock from January this year! I think it will air on BBC One this coming Tuesday.
