… and I just can't stand it.
I know. they’d come down and take a bite out of a piece of bacon and a sip of orange juice and say, “I got to get going.” Lol
And as for John Ross and Christopher. Sometimes I wondered, when do they eat because up until the final seasons, they were rarely seen at the dinner table.
They were in the kitchen, with Carmen, Drew and Elena
there's often such a nice breakfast spread, too... does Raoul just pig out on the leftovers?
This happens on literally every show, it's definitely not just Dallas
Oh, I know, I know. But the Ewings just seemed to eat all the time! And no wonder --- they were still hungry from the last meal they never finished!
I've noted this with many series...just not Dallas. It does kind of infuriate me such delicious food is left. Lifestyles of the rich and famous I suppose.
When I first watched Dallas on DVD it was always quite late at night. Sometimes I would binge episodes and watch up to around 1 or 2am. I would always come over with these cravings for bacon sausage and eggs at that time of the morning. Sometimes I would even given in to those cravings.
According to Larry Hagman the lack of eating on the show was because of the problems it posed in terms of matching/continuity.
Jock claimed to have finished his meal here, patting his stomach, saying he'd work it off in front of the TV watching the Cowboys (which he may well have done after instructing JR to dig up dirt on Cliff's late fiancee in the den), but... JR still has a full plate, and Sue Ellen hasn't done much better. Preposterous when you consider the Michelin star -level quality of Teresa's cooking!
When I watch the Ewing family dining outside - often for breakfast - I use to drool thinking how rich the family were. But then I'm reminded it's just breakfast consisting of orange juice, coffee, bacon and eggs. It's the subtle skill of how it was presented which obviously had me salivating.
Ah, the actors would get fatter!
Well at least we can check that out when we alter the picture to widescreen!
I always thought Priscilla Presley looked wide! Wooden, but wide, just like the dining hall table!
