Sounds good, but I can't help wondering why they didn't make more of an effort when the likes of Larry was still alive. Plus it doesn't really make sense releasing all that bonus material; with a few seasons, and not the entire series.

    The point is...

    a) Will they release the rest of the show?

    b) Where is Knots Landing? I´d rather have the first 6 seasons of Knots...

I think they might, if this test run from Time-Life makes the money for them; maybe a few of the seasons that had no bonuses originally from WB might get some in a Time-Life release if it gets that far.

Well it's nice that the show is apparently still selling well enough that a new DVD release is forthcoming. :)
However as a fan who already have two copies of the DVD's, the original release with double sided discs and the complete box set with single sided discs, I won't be getting another set of DVD's to get a couple of new interviews with the cast.

If they had included the deleted scenes on the other hand I would have bought it again!

Also I agree that I'd rather have all of Knots Landing on DVD too than a third Dallas DVD release...

What a swizz! At least five of those special features, the last five listed actually where already released on the previous boxsets or on the Dallas Movie collection set.

It just smacks of bleeding the fan's dry in my opinion. I'm not buying it that's for sure. :(

I'm not going to buy this edition, I'm happy with my DVDs, unless Dallas is released on Blu-ray, only then will I buy Dallas again.

I prefer to see more new DVD releases from Knots Landing, because after announcing a while ago that season 1 would be re-released again, I started to get hope, unfortunately nothing news about this, maybe the re-release of season 1 has been delayed?.

At $100 for 4 seasons or $200 for 6 seasons it's not cheap considering it's a nearly 40 year old series that's already available on DVD (the complete 14 season series and 4 films currently available on Amazon for under £120, approx. $150).

The first few seasons did need some remastering. But why stop at S6 (instead of, say, S8)?

As I have mentioned before, I would have preferred to have seen a really lavish book produced, something really worth of the show. Barbara Curran's book is very good, but the show did deserve a really lavish book to be issued in tandem with the DVDs.

Deluxe indeed. They don't even have slipcases. o_O

Yes. I would consider re-buying if the series was upgraded to BD.

Charging that much for an already outdated technology seems extortionate when older, less well-known series have been given pristine BD releases for considerably less.

    Oh, if only.

Even more so when you consider it's really $100 for three full seasons and $200 for five full seasons.

Initially excited when I saw the post but will pass on this. Why is Warner Bros so reluctant to allow this great series to be restored and released on Blu-ray? It beggars belief. What are they waiting for? 2078 when someone will decide let's celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Dallas? I'm left puzzled why a media conglomerate like Warner Bros simply won't allow some company access to the masters and restore it. Granted it could be a time consuming business but I'd be very happy purchasing a Blu-ray Box Set of Dallas without any extras.

The Wizard of Oz is about to be released on 4K....

How can they call them collectors edition when it's not even the entire series? The point of a collection is to own the set (which has been available for years as a complete series).

As for the cover art, I'm more impressed than I was with the previous re-release (that tacky box with the cash spilling out) but I'm not overly impressed by the minimalist design. The original releases and subsequent complete series box set are uniform, interesting to look at and (forgive me for saying it) but they don't look like something fanmade on iOffer.

This screams money grab to me. The special features aren't all new and what are new sound mildly interesting but the time for this release would have either been around the 40th anniversary or back when the TNT show was airing and there was media buzz.

I'm in the UK anyway, so I can't buy it. And besides I'd miss the fact both Ken Kercheval & Larry Hagman, god rest both of them would be missing from the more recent VAM.

I honestly think they're pulling a sneaky one, one worthy of JR himself!

They're gonna release Dallas in at least four separate boxsets, it's just a yet another attempt to bleed the fan's from their hard earned money, that's all it is! :(

I agree. That's why they're not releasing at least season one through eight in this set. They need to leave enough of the good stuff for them to be able to successfully sell their next set. It's no coincidence that the winner of the contest for Ewing Oil isn't revealed until season seven and they're stopping at season six with this "deluxe" set.

I wouldn't buy it even if it was available in Europe.

They can take this boxset & bury it on section forty of Southfork, for all I care. :)

Look out for the infomercial for this, which features Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Charlene Tilton, Steve Kanaly and a special phone call from Victoria Principal.

Oh that special call...Maybe it´s Victoria indeed complaining about all the people who still asks her to do things Dallas-related...That would be worth all those bucks...
