The irony is that you keep accusing us of not reading your posts before responding!

    You're a man. That's all she needs.

You are not not making a difference between bullying, teasing and sexual harrassment. They are 3 different things.
I have been teased about liking Dallas. I don't call that sexual harrassment - cause it's not.
I have been teased about liking Take That. I don't call that sexual harrassment - cause it's not.
I have been teached about wearing braces. I don't call that sexual harrassment - cause it's not.
I have been teased about having a kidney illness. I don't call that sexual harrassment - cause it's not.
I have been silently bullied by girls in my class. I call that bullying, not sexual harrassment, cause it's not.

Groping someone on their breasts or genitals IS sexual harrassment.

Cause in point: Donald Trump and his "grabbing them by the kitty". If that isn't ok for an adult to do - why would it be okay for a teenager to do?????

I have read your posts. Why do you think I'm reacting?
And don't assume I hate men. I love men.

    Silently?

They rarely seem to be connected.

Fine. But I do know, with your last post, that you can't differentiate between teasing, bullying and sexual harrassment.

Oh, silent bullying is what teenage girls do BEST. They exclude people (other girls) from their group. It's looks. It's refusing to sit next to you in the classroom.
Girls can be totally vicious. Another major problem in society that deserves its own #metoo.

But this thread is implying that all girls are experiencing this all the time. They aren't. I went to a co-ed high school and girls weren't groped and touched. It just didn't happen. It's like these ridiculous rape statistics that are ever multiplying. Obviously there are rare incidents where people are abused and harassed of BOTH sexes but in general it's not happening like you are implying it is.

You don't seem to understand that all three come under the same umbrella.

But how do you punish the men for that?

You base this on what facts and what personal stories? Why do you assume that so many women are liars or dumb not to know any difference?

I went to a co-ed school (there are practually only co-ed schools in Sweden), and these things did happen. And they happened to girls. I never once saw I boy being sexually harrassed, but I can't be sure that it never happened. I can only be sure of the things I saw and heard.

And it wasn't just in school. My mother has a workplace #metoo story. My female collaegues at work have #metoo stories - while the male collaegues didn't have any. Just one of them, but he was one of those bra strap pulling boys (he admitted), but it stayed at that level only for him.

Also, it's a known fact that these things were even worse 40-50 years ago when women first started to work instead of being housewives. This was confirmed by a professor in criminology last week. So there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Why on earth would I punish men for the bullying girls put each other through?

Men must take responsibility for the sexual harrassment that they put girls through.
Women and girls must take responsibility for the bullying and sexual harrassment women & girls put others through.
Adults must step in when children are being abused, harrassed or bullied.
Just like we all need to take responsible for our own bad behavior.

I silently bullied a girl when I was 13. We all did - the whole class. The poor thing was all alone in a classroom of 28 pupils. Still today it makes me sick to my stomach thinking about how we never talked to her or invited her in. Back then, I didn't know how she felt. I didn't know how wrong it was. But that is no excuse, cause I knew enough. I just didn't care more about her well-being than about myself, not getting ousted from the group too.
Not speaking to someone isn't a crime, like sexual harrassment is, but it is at least morally deplorable. At the very least I learned a lesson, and if I see a pupil (boy or girl) being ousted by his/her peers today, I reach out.

I feel it's my job, as a grown woman, to show some civil courage and speak out when I see someone getting bullied or harrassed. That is; more than just teased once or twice.

Why so combative? I never said anyone was a liar. I don't assume anyone to be a liar.

I'm sure someone could find a way. Or at least blame the girls bullying on men somehow.

I just think you are way wrong when you write that both sexes get sexually harrassed equally as much. Nothing I have ever read or heard supports that. I have seen statistics from 2006 and from 2016 - both before the #metoo bomb exploded. Same statistics. Woman are sadly overly representative victims, and men are overly respresentative as offenders.

Does some equate to "so many"?

I stand by them. In no known world is one gender innocent angels and one gender deplorable devils. It's just that women are overly representative of some offenses, and men are overly representative on other offenses. And that has never meant that 100% of women will commit the offense that gender is overly representative in, or 100% of men will commit the offense that that gender is overly representated in.
In many cases, it's the same woman and the same men who commits the deed over and over and over again. Repeat offenders that never learn.

But if anyone was to say that 100% of men are potential rapists and that all bad acts women commit are single-handedly the men's fault - yes, indeed, I would call them deranged. Bring me that person to me and I will personally tell them "you are deranged". No problemo.

"Some", in my world, are a small number of people. If only "some" of the people who are now going public with their stories, then we'd still have many many many people who are telling the truth. So if only some people are lying, we still have a vast majority of people who have been sexually harrassed. So the problem remains.
