...then who should set fire to La Mirage? Because that's one storyline I'd rather not give up. It makes such a great cliffhanger/premiere, no matter how unbalanced it was.

I thought up some possible candidates:

Caress - she doesn't get shipped off back to prison, or at least that doesn't happen *yet*, and after struggling to find a way to get back at Alexis, she gets drunk in her room and passes out on the floor... knocking over some candles in the process. In the s7 premiere, we see Jackie Deveraux walking down the hall, upset over her father's deception, only to realize its full of smoke. She investigates and discovers one of the doors has not been shut all the way, and so is able to get to Caress before the woman is burnt to a crisp.

Jackie - or we could have it so that the young Deveraux girl is the one who accidentally starts the fire. She causes it after overhearing Dominique break off the engagement to Garrett. Jackie is heartbroken, hurt and angry over her father's deception and at the fact that her parents aren't going to get married after all. She goes to her mother's hotel room, only to discover a candlelit dinner that was planned by Garrett. On the table are two jewelry boxes, one for his future wife, the other for his daughter. Tearful and furious, Jackie grabs her intended present and hurls it across the room, but doesn't notice when she accidentally knocks over one of the candles. Jackie goes into the bathroom to dry her eyes, and in the mirror, we see a reflection of the room going up in flames. In the s7 premiere, Jackie is rescued like before. After Alexis initially accuses Blake of starting the fire to gain the insurance money, it comes to light that it was Jackie. So Alexis presses charges against the girl, which *enrages* Dominique... and could be the new motive behind their catfight! :D

Adam - we all know s6 was a bad year for him, and its been made even worse by the fact that his intended fiancee was shot in the Moldavian Massacre. Plus, he was seen getting drunk in the original s6 cliffhanger, so why not keep that, only have it so that he stumbles into a room that he was staying in, and begins lighting candles to 'honor' Claudia... only, like Aunt Caress above, passes out before knocking the candles over. In s7, Adam is rescued by Steven. And during the whole mess of Alexis pinning the fire on Blake, she discovers it was Adam, but either she decides to keep that quiet and keeps on accusing Blake, or she decides to drop all charges.

Or maybe we could do a combination of two or all three. One possibility is that both Jackie and Adam start an accidental fire (only for the sake of variety, Adam doesn't knock any candles over, but instead throws a bottle into the fire, which causes a fireball that catches on the surrounding objects?). However, Alexis strives to keep Adam's involvement hidden and pins all the blame on Jackie, angering Dominique.

What do you all think? Who else is a candidate to start the fire? Garrett? Steven? Fallon? Perhaps a visiting Colby?

Sammy Jo and Amanda: Clay has a room at La Mirage set up for a romantic rendezvous: scattered rose petals, champagne on ice, soft music and lots of candles. Sammy Jo learns about the room and thinks Clay set it up for her, when she sees him taking Amanda upstairs she is furious. Sammy Jo barges into the room and she and Amanda get into a catfight. Candles are knocked over and the bedding catches fire.

I love this idea so much, and yet I can't bring myself to sacrifice the two blondes fighting in the pool.

Luke - He wasn´t dead after all. The Moldavian doctors faked his death and kept him hostage in case someone would claim his body. But the mascara he wore when he "died" was so convincing that the Denver people thought he was actually dead. Then enters Princess Elena (or whatever her name was: the beech with the popping eyes) and decides to kidnap him and make him a straight man. But she exchanges makeup tips with him instead and Luke finally leaves on his own a la "The Sound of Music" (minus the songs).

When he gets back to Denver, he is so sick of using cheap Moldavian hair grease that he gets mad and wants to get revenge of everybody: Steven, Claudia, Adam and that Sammy Jo tramp.

Here is Claudia when she sees Luke and thinks he is..."Lindsay?"

He sets fire to the hotel and shouts: "I´m at the top of the world, and I´m a top, Steven! Do you know what that is?"

    The End
