I may be in the minority here, but I think the writers missed a massive opportunity with Heather.

I actually found Christopher more likeable thanks to Heather and their relationship temporarily separated him from the incestuous little web he was in with Elena, John Ross, Pamela and Emma. Plus, Heather represented the Southfork Ranch side of Dallas, which was somewhat dismissed in the midst of all John Ross' dirty business deals.

I agree they should've done more with Christopher / Heather, especially as Elena turned out to be such a confused character so it was fresh to see someone apart from all that drama.

I also really enjoyed the Heather & Chris pairing. I used to wish that they'd build more on that romance as I preferred them to Elena/Chris when I first watched the show. So I had wanted Heather to stick around longer.

Yes, I liked her, too. I was disappointed when they wrote her out.

I felt that the pairing of Christopher and Heather was all about showing how his life could have been if he had been adopted by a normal family rather than sold by his biological father to the Ewings. He could have been happy ever after... Instead he ended up with the Ewings, Southfork, the family business, all the fighting and finally the drug cartel - which makes his untimely death so much more tragic. Had he not been a member of the Ewing family but married to someone like Heather and father to someone like Michael, there wouldn’t have been a bomb in his car.

I sometimes question if the decision by Cynthia & Co. to kill off Christopher was her way of throwing shade at Victoria for releasing the media statement informing one and all SHE WAS NOT COMING BACK TO DALLAS.

I don´t think so, the Cider House didn´t manage to think about little things so much less about TV politics or something like that! And also I don´t think that VP sent them a note saying: "Kill that not-so-Ugly Baby"...

They couldn't even think about the bigger picture let alone those minor details which were frustrating.

If they had to kill off someone for dramatic shake, I would have preferred it had been Elena.

Kind of like history repeating itself. Pam marries into the Ewing family, upsetting the rhythm of their perfect lives. She gets involved with the family business by pushing her husband to stand up for himself and of course the fighting which resulted of this meddling. Strange how both Pam and Christopher ended up...

There have been several short-lived romances in the classic soaps and I think the Christopher/Heather romance (and the end of it) was very well done.
They didn't simply break up, he realized that he was never going to be part of that family. I like that final scene in the hospital.

But maybe Heather could change her mind and become a crazy psycho-bitch (she did it so well in Nip/Tuck) and maybe she could be the one who killed Christopher.
But then again, this almost begs for a season finale shower scene surprise!

I didn’t mind her character myself, but I liked Christopher better with her. If he was going to be a good guy, and to me he was a whiny brat who needed his ass kicked, he needed someone like Heather where he got to be the hero for purely selfless reasons.
