I've just watched that movie from 1979 again for the first time in ages and right at the beginning there is a very brief scene with 2 persons in a control room, and the woman looks very much like Deborah Rennard.
Though she's not listed in the credits at the end of the movie and IMDB or anything else i've looked up gives me any information on that. :confuse:
I have this movie on bluray and can't take screenshots, as i don't have an external bluray drive that i could connect to my Notebook.
The only other movie with Deborah i know is "Leon" with Jean-Claude van Damme.

Are you sure it's not Grace Lee Whitney who played Janice Rand?

I've just checked Deborah's wikipedia page & her filmography does not mention Star Trek The Motion Picture so it's obviously not her but someone who looks like her. :)

No, not Grace. I've checked Deborahs pages as well as IMDB for that movie, that part is not listed anywhere.
It's a very, very small part, maybe 10 seconds screentime. She says just a few words and doesn't even have a name there.
I think i'll try to film that scene with my mobile and upload it to youtube and post it here later.

So here it is, that's the whole part she plays there. Could it be Deborah?!

I think it´s not Deborah. Unless you meant the computer´s voice...which usually is Majel Roddenberry...

I seem to vaguely recall reading somewhere that those two parts were won as prizes for some sort of Star Trek fan contest.

Yeah it doesn't look anything like Deborah Rennard to me either.

Check the end credits of the movie, because usually if you've spoken a line you'll be credited on the closing credits. :)

Which actress are we asking about? The lady in the foreground or the lady at the desk in the background?

Random comment, but I enjoy The Motion Picture a lot more than most people seem to. It’s the type of 70s boring that I love and can always get immersed in. Another great example of perfect 70s boring is The Amityville Horror.
