Brace yourselves. The speculation is true. What we've all been dreading is true:
Vindication for @Ma746!
Is this on Amazon here in America?
This doesn't exist this doesn't exist this doesn't exist
Yes, it appeared under my recommendations. I must send them a sternly worded letter informing them their algorithm is seriously flawed. Just because I purchased six seasons of "Dynasty" DVDs from their site (I purchased the first three from bricks and mortar stores) is absolutely no reason why this should be recommended to me.
Maybe it was recommended because what you got from there was Dynasty, and they're recommending based on that name (so they figure you'd want anything and everything related to the O-R ABC series, even all the way to The Reunion of 1991 [and I don't blame you for not desiring that wretched 1991 Reunion]).
I had a similar wacky algorithm before, when, just because I gave high ratings to Shout!'s releases (as far as they've gotten) of L.A. Law (which, IMO, did have some entertainment value, poor picture quality aside), Amazon thought that I would want Little House on The Prairie (which, for me, has had absolutely zero entertainment value). Somehow I think that they assumed I would enjoy an incredibly boring joke of a series set out in the middle of nowhere, just because I enjoyed one set in a city with a lot of skyscrapers (and I dislike admitting it, but my definition of scenery is far different than that of a lot of other people [they like wide-open spaces, I enjoy skyscrapers]).
Ugh. Really. Twisted Landonized ruination of LEW's classic book series. And just warped on its own merit.
Well, it is the worst part of Dynasty saga, but at least: Krystle and Alexis are alive, Al Corley is back, Heather Locklear plays a juicy bad girl again, Steven finally accepted his homosexuality and the story got its formal ending. What about season 9, I started to adore it several years ago - except the cliffhanger. It was just like sex without orgasm. Hm, The Reunion is really bad and full of continuity errors, but do you prefer the end of a story with bleeding Blake, Krystle in a coma, Alexis and Dex falling from the balcony and Fallon with Krystina and Denis Grimes imprisoned undeground?
But then the producers went to ABC once the cancellation happened to ask for another hour so they could wrap things up after Season 9, but the network said "no".
Two years later they changed their minds, and so we got The Reunion.... I think I might have preferred Blake on the stairs and Alexis in mid-air.
Oh this is all kinds of evil fuckery. I mean... I hate it, but I have only ever seen it in awful quality. I HATE the utter nonsense of it all. But now it's being released I know I will probably buy it just because I'm a completist.
This makes me sick! Sick to the pit of my stomach!
That's the thing--that after two years the Shapiro/Pollock/De Blasio team would come up with something so inane.
And just in time for Halloween too.
Fallon (season 1 and 9) is my favorite character.
I cannot stand "reunion Fallon". It's the worst version of the character.
Even "Sweet Daddy's Princess Fallon" from The Colbys was better written than this. And they had a f...ing spaceship (dumbest plot ever after Dallas Pam's dream)
Anyway, the plot, the set, the character regression of Sammy Jo, and new Adam are good reasons to ignore the very existence of that "reunion".
So thank you, but no thank you.
I just feel it's not DYNASTY without that house.
And why do they film outside it but not inside it? What happened there?
Filoli house was like its own character...
Good question. Was it new material ? Or stock shots ? I don't remember (I don't plan to watch it again anytime soon)
Well from what I recall. Krystle and Alexis have a scene outside Filoli. They show Krystle get out of a car outside then she enters and it's that ugly ass house instead. Then Alexis is loading all Blake and Krystle's loot into the back of her limo and she and Krystle have a brief scene outside.
Thanks. Maybe renting just the outside of the house for 1 scene was cheaper than renting the full house for filming.
No, only Linda's stunt double shot a part of the scene at Filoli. Linda Evans and Joan Collins shot the rest of the scene at Arden Villa.
But since the crew came to Filoli for a brief sequence, one could wonder why they didn't film new establishing shots...
Yeah, before the DVD release we could hate it and dismiss it, now we must buy what we hate. It will tarnish our precious soap collections, and the next dilemma will be: where do I place the DVD?
It really belongs in the Dynasty collection, but I don't want to put it between the beautifully slipcased Dynasty S9 and The Colbys S1.
Oh the horror of it all!
