Yes, I would have thought quite a few of their singles might have been in your collection.

I bought a lot of 2 Unlimited discs during the early 90s, but never liked anything Vengaboys did until one day in Cornwall on a twister at some fair where Boom Boom Boom was playing and I instantly fell in love with the song.

I didn't think I would have enough material to do two separate top tens, but listening to some of these tracks might change that. Though I could do without Perez joining in.

I agree, I have no idea why he had to be part of the Rocket song.

    No, not at all.

But the chorus of this sounds very familiar. I looked them up and they had zero success over here. Either this song was played on the radio, or maybe it was part of a dance compilation that I had because it really is familiar.

    Maybe someone sampled the chorus.

    The mind continues to wonder...

    Slade vs Sweet

    S V S.jpg

As always, if you have ten favourites from both sides, then please post the two lists and I will include them in the final tally.

    Slade
    sd.jpg
An English rock band from Wolverhampton. They rose to prominence during the glam rock era in the early 1970s, achieving 17 consecutive top 20 hits and six number ones on the UK Singles Chart. The British Hit Singles & Albums names them the most successful British group of the 1970s based on sales of singles. They were the first act to have three singles enter the charts at number one; all six of the band's chart-toppers were penned by Noddy Holder and Jim Lea. As of 2006, total UK sales stand at 6,520,171, and their best-selling single, "Merry Xmas Everybody", has sold in excess of one million copies. According to the 1999 BBC documentary It's Slade, the band have sold over 50 million records worldwide.

    Sweet
    sw.jpg
A British glam rock band that rose to worldwide fame in the 1970s. Their best known line-up consisted of lead vocalist Brian Connolly, bass player Steve Priest, guitarist Andy Scott, and drummer Mick Tucker. The group was originally called Sweetshop.

The band was formed in London in 1968 and achieved their first hit, "Funny Funny", in 1971 after teaming up with songwriters Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman and record producer Phil Wainman. During 1971 and 1972, their musical style followed a marked progression from the Archies-like bubblegum style of "Funny Funny" to a Who-influenced hard rock style supplemented by a striking use of high-pitched backing vocals.
