There was a failed payment, which has now been corrected.
Delighted the site is back up. I had feared that all posts were going to be lost like last time but everything seems to be back as normal.
I had the same concern as well. I hope someone back-ups the information here if they site ever crashes like last September. I'm glad everything is back to normal.
We shouldn't lose anything now. The owner assures me that there is a back-up in place.
glad its back up and running
if only we could get the pre Sept 12th crash posts back too!
Today, the server was - once again - down for quite some time!
What's the reason this time?
I don't know, I haven't heard from the owner in a few weeks.
I checked with http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ and it said it has been completly down for everyone and that was at least 6 hours, but i think it was down even longer.
If there is no reliable communication with the owner, maybe it's about time we open our own forum?!
This whole content could be moved to that new one, that shouldn't be a problem, so we don't lose anything.
Because i don't want to invest time and energy here and then one day that dubious owner decides to shut it down for good and all ist gone once again.
If the owner was one of the active members, that wouldn't happen, plus we could finally have all the nice replying options again like "agree", "funny", "useful" and so on.
The server is down too often, IMO! Thus, it's worth to at least consider the various options available!
Have you heard from the owner yet, @Ome?
I've left him a couple of emails, just waiting for a reply.
Believe me, I'm doing the best I can with the tools I have, and I am trying to secure us a better deal.
Your optimism and patience are admirable, i would have banged on the table a long time ago. But i guess that's what makes a good mod/admin.
I just appear to be calm on here
Just wanted to say you're doing an amazing job @Ome - really grateful to you.
I know what you mean about investing time and energy into posts - i have spent hour upon hour scanning some of my collection - photos and articles to post here and
I feel i spent so long sitting at a computer discussing Dallas since 2000, (cast onscreen, off screen, epiosdes) in particular in detail, passionately, lovingly, (unless it was TNT crap)
living through it as it was happening - deaths of cast, the major events, fan Souce, BBQ etc et al - it feels like all those many many hours were wasted cos one day it went BANG - and disappeared into thin air and i feel it was all for nothing and felt very deflated. i dont think i have the same time and energy to do it like that again incase it goes BANG once more
I wish that Ome was given ALL or EQUAL responsibiity - full reign, controls, to run this forum as it stands.
Yes, thanks so much for all you do for this forum, @Ome! :thank:
That would be so awesome, because then we could feel save and that all is in good and caring hands.
Although i don't have much, but in that case i would even donate some Euros from time to time to help sharing the running costs.
Stop it now, you're just making me blush.
Stop it??? ... ...
Love you, @Ome!
I'm assuming everyone had this error for the past 24 hours?
First the site didn't load at all and then it just said error.
Yes. Ome and I both tried in this time to contact the site owner but it took this length of time to resolve it.
