I'm about to start Season 7, so I figured I'd post any random thoughts, observations and complaints here. Hopefully, there will be something good to talk about. Would love to hear from everyone as well but no spoilers. At this point, I suspect being surprised, occasionally, will be one of the few pleasures to be had!
Great idea JROG! That´s when series are so bad that their reviews become a non-stop joke worth of following them (as usual with yours, anyway...)!
Speaking of surprises: Michael Culhane's back?!!?! I had no idea! He's going after Dreadful Amanda and planning something regarding Blake. How FUN! I also really like that sexy window of his (even if it doesn't match the establishing exterior shot). And Wayne Northrop, if possible, is hotter than ever. Oh, the fire stuff was absolutely horrible. All those people running not only away from the fire but towards it looking so silly. Jackie getting half her face burned off but still being boring. Amanduh wants a job at Carrington, so Blake sends her to the PR department, which is the same thing that Krystle did, so I suppose women at Carrington can only do PR. Bart has a funny moment when he throws the coconut away. They spend a lot of time recreating past scenes with new actors. Alexis is barely allowed to enjoy her victory and then goes off and buys another publishing company.
Wrong again, it's Clay! lol (Bananasplit ice with Sammy Jo, but she doesn't like coconuts) I just found a page of his son! He looks awesome as well: http://www.hanknorthrop.com/ They should cast him for the new Dynasty! Yes, especially the 2nd half of s7. I'm SO glad that i don't have to sit through it myself and can just enjoy the funny reviews. Poor JROG! Be strong, this might be your hardest task yet!
Whoops. I had completely forgotten all about that scene (aside from the general-ness of it). lol Yeah... yeah, he could be cast as Michael Cullhane! 0_0 I mean... why not? Oh gosh, now I'm imagining the new version bringing in Adam and Amanda in a lot sooner, and that Cullhane gets kept around, so he and Amanda can have their romance a lot sooner - and Fallon can be around to get jealous! Bwahahahahahahahaaa! The thought of sitting through the second half of season 7 brings tears to my eyes.
come on S7 isn´t so bad..... *Alexis living in the mansion together with the evil horde (Adam & Ben) *taking over DC *Lexdex together again *Ben blackmails Alexis *Caress is back for a while *the catfight *the car accident *the explosion *the Black White Ball *Alexis & Blake in Singapure *Sammy Jo & Clay -damn good looking
It has its bright spots, yes. But that all happens in the first half. The second half... I recall one episode in particular where it felt like walking around a tomb... *shudder*
I actually enjoyed Steven and Sammy Jo's arc in season 7. Well I did the last time I watched it all. I found it quite sad, in a good way. Although it felt like I wasn't seeing all that was going on. Sammy Jo is different after season 7.
The last part is bad because Alexis is nice and her storylines just silly like her relation with the Maurier ... but I agree the first part is good but not great because of the new Amanda fiasco....
On spot, well said. And welcome to the forum! Have you been on the "old" forum and which was your name there?
Sideswiped was actually pretty good! Lots of re-positioning of the people on canvas and actual family drama. Steven got it wrong: This isn't "Now." Everything old is new again: Michael is back from Season 1. The Hilda/Alexis stuff has echoes of Season 2. Adam brings back the rattle from Season 3. The opening scene references Roger Grimes from whatever year. I loved the surprising flashback of Blake and Alexis. The got Alexis' hair right and Blake did manage to look a bit younger. After a decent start, Cellini's line delivery now makes her sound like a robot that is constantly dabbed. She smiles so damn hard. They took an interesting route with Michael and Amanda by having her know everything already instead of making it a Big Dark Secret. It's funny how Alexis keeps bouncing in and out of offices and houses --she's at the newspaper, she's at ColbyCo, she's at Carrington, she's at home when Krystle happens to go there-- and everyone seems to always know where she is so they can have a scene with her! The show makes up some ridiculous horse backstory for Emily Fallmont, who was such an interesting and intriguing character. And what horrible, unconvincing sentimentality when Blake gathers the board members to give a rousing speech of the "we fought hard, we've done so much, we will not give up!" variety. But, hey, there's actually nice, silent moments between Krystle and Blake. The acting actually seems pretty decent. Linda Evans came alive for a second! Although, if she recognizes/remembers Michael or has anything to say about his return, the show doesn't bother to tell us. And what a fun ending with the car accident. I gotta say, that was good.
