Just a small one I created with a certain flavor to it.
Some great clips there from the glory days of Dallas
Great job at matching up the clips with the music. You've really managed to capture the western feel of the show.
Also I like how you included some of the funniest moments in your video. At least I think it's funny when they fight in the pool.
Yes! Isn't it interesting how the most successful years of the show had a lot of that western feel to them but the more they got away from the western style, the less successful the series became?
This might be controversial I don't see soap opera as a genre so much as a format for telling a story. Dallas was a western told in a soap opera format. I haven't seen the other 80s primetime soaps but from what I've heard about them I think that was one of the things that differentiated Dallas from the rest of them. None of the others were westerns, were they?
Nope, Dynasty, Knots Landing and Falcon Crest weren't Westerns. Although Gary buying Westfork on Knots did give it a bit of that feel. But after all it made sense that Gary lived on a ranch since that's how he grew up and he loved the land.
I agree that @kenneth 's video did a nice job of capturing the western feel of Dallas, and Texas in general.
As a Texan, the video was basically a replay of Saturday nights of my younger days.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
