It might be worth checking in when the new Bailey family arrive in June.
I havent caught it in ages, its on when Im at work so miss it sadly.
maybe they should just go backwards and play episodes back from current day to 1960!
You could record it and watch it later, in Corrie's time-slot (which is what I thought you were doing)
Oddly enough, I actually quit watching Corrie in the 90s. I grew really tired of the boring stories and equally boring characters like Emily, Curly, Derek, Mavis, and the McDonalds' also started to become boring. I was totally fed up with the humour from Reg & Raquel and I recall really disliking those two characters the most.
Now as I watch it again I'm truly shocked by how bloody fantastic those characters are. How in the hell did I find Derek & Mavis boring, they're a delight to watch these days. The same goes for Raquel & Reg, they are hilarious to me now. It just goes to show that watching the 90s Corrie alongside the current Corrie and that's what it has taken me to really appreciate those characters so much more now.
That said, I still don't care for Curly as a character.
It was never really about the writing (though, often it's pretty good) but more about the actors and the chemistry they create to bring these pairings to a whole new level of entertainment.
Raquel & Reg were usually over the top and had some really stupid stories, but even those don't come anywhere close to the stupidity the actors playing Sean, Dev, Kirk & Beth.
I cant record shows, only got freesat
So if Im not in cant wstch as itvplayer dont seem to have old Corrie on to catch up.
That was a great twist with Toyah & Imran faking their fallout, but they will have to be sassier if they don't want Nick to catch them out.
It was clever, but what is Nick? Mystic Meg??? How did he guess so easily??
How can Sal and the rest of the girls afford a horse? They must be getting it from that money tree at the end of the ginnel.
I bet when they get it it will be an old nag.
Aw the wee horse.
I'm only half watching Corrie now. Finding it all a bit ludicrous at the mo.
Finally some meaty and gritty stories with the Platt family. I really felt for Audrey when they told her that Nick had stolen her money.
I had a couple of nights to catch up on, but I was really moved by Sue Nicholls and thought she was excellent.
Nick is just horrible. At least David is showing some empathy. I can't believe Nick would sacrifice his brother and ask him to go to jail just so he could 'keep Leanne'.
I mean WHY would you want to?! (@Mo Mouse)
Really powerful episode tonight with Carla, almost too bloody powerful. Now I could do with a rest from her story, that was quite exhausting to watch.
Loved the big reveal at the end, where this goes with Gary now, I have no idea.
That's what love does, Sar. It makes the world go round. Don't be frightened, Sar. Let love find you.
Ben Price is playing Nick brilliantly, I can't recall the last time I despised a character as much as I despise Nick right now. It was probably in the early days of Pat Phelan before they turned him into a full-time cartoon.
Also loving the idea of Evelyn working in the shop.
I agree Ben Price is playing a blinder. The best bit of CS right now apart from the scenes with Carla.
I agree Ben Price is playing Nasty Nick well. Just one observation though . Why does he screw his face up like a crumpled brown paper bag when he is speaking ?
It's like the Corrie school of 'one expression' acting. Kate does the same - watch her when she gets cross. And don't start me on Kevin Webster's wobbly mouth.
I really, really, REALLY!!! wanted David & Shona to arrive at Natalie's and see Leanne there.
I'm so ready for this new family to bring new life into the street, I love that they are already calling Ken, Kenny and the lies about ten kids with pets.
I know I've said it before but Leanne needs to be hit by a bus. I really can't bear her, she is a one trick pony (pardon the pun Tiny).
I'm interested to see if Gemma will give birth to the 4 babies. I somehow very much doubt it....
I found the new guy asking Michelle out in front of Robert and the whole scenario completely unbelievable. They aren't divorced and it was just cringey
