Sarah this time around is much better, her first stint she annoyed me, especially during her later years.

Lucy Fallon has definitely made the role her own, she’s brought vulnerability and comedic value to the role, she will be very missed.

I wonder whose next in line to go? Now does seem to be the perfect time to clean house and start again, we’re 18 months away from Corrie’s 60th anniversary, now is the time to bring in new blood as well as strengthen existing characters

That's Freda, Emily's niece. She's back to seel the house for Norris. She was in it a couple of times back on the 00s. It's where Emily is now

They're certainly making that out, aren't they?

If she is then it's a shitty way to write her out of it, even though it would be a shocking story.

I'm wondering if it might be the cat Norris was holding in the picture that Freda spoke to.

Well you see I didn't want to say, but I will be VERY upset and angry if it's the cat. I'm a huge animal person and that urn is way too big for a wee cat. It is! I will be writing a letter of complaint.

    Sorry if it's Emily like.

It was an odd scene, it looked like Freda was smiling when she spoke to the urn. Maybe, I was just redaing too much into it.

I suspected the cat too, but wouldn't allow myself to think it.

As a rule I love Mary but those scenes were so OTT and cringe worthy sadly.

The best bits were Tracey winding Mary up and the scenes with Ali and Ryan with Bethany which seemed very natural. More of that please Corrie.

    They were, weren't they?

Though I did actually LOL when she came screaming out of the house after dropping the urn, it was her facial expressions.

Yes, we certainly need more like this.

He's still not enough to get me watching Corrie again, though.

They've been giving out viewer warnings that some scenes may be distressing.

There is a small part of me that thinks they are referring to Carla, but the rest of me believes they are warning the viewers about how painful it is to watch Kirk, Beth and all the fuicking stupid scenes with the Rovers Talent contest.

I could go on... Michelle, Geoff, Yasmeen.....

Alison King is fantastic. Take note Kym Marsh. THIS is how to win an actual acting award.

I agree and thats why I switched off,
the actors in the show now (with exceptions of Ray, Carla, Sally, Tim, Barlows, Liz, Rita, Jenny and a few others) are second rate and not worthy of Corrie greats like Alex and Bet, jack and vera, Stan and Hilda, Elsie, Deirdrie, Blanche etc
Think the last time i was watching it weekly Jude the plank was in it - where did they dig him up, i could act better, Sinus Sinead who seriously needs to go to eloqution lessons or get her tonsils and adenoids seen to to free us of that nasal voice - they are awful.

Bouncing Billy 100 feet off the cliff then a month later hobbling about are just so far fetched and totally unrealistic, its the turning point for me to say time to call it quits.
as for the "factory" workers "Rovers return bar staff" etc who eat breakfast in a cafe, lunch and Roys or the RR and dinner at the Bistro / Rovers, whatever dreadful actress yasmeen calls her place Ive forgotten

HOW CAN THEY AFFORD IT ON A CRAP OR MINIMUM WAGE? im not on a minimum wage and i couldnt afford it and i dont wear a new outfit every day of the week, how can they afford it?

Weddings that they book that never happen, interruptions and fighting/storming out at funerals, it all so unrealistic, far fetched and when i last saw it there was precious little Northern wit and dry humour.

I dont miss it at all, and dont feel guilty, have more free hours in the evening to do other stuff and currently enjoying some Maggie Smith films (someone who can act!)

I always tune in to this thread tho just to get a feel of whats going on, is it worth waching again?

but i feel like Corrie is like TNT Dallas, its called Corrie, but it isnt, its lost the key factors that made it watchable. Its Coronation street in name only and the heart and souls who made the show are no longer there- with a few exceptions like Roy, carla etc and i do wonder if it will still be here in 20 years given how numbers are dropping for all soaps and TV viewing habits change

if it is here in 20 years, I bet ken barlow will still be in it!!!!!!!!!! ;)

    In a word - No.

It's really at the bottom of the pit with all this stupidity that's going on.

Agreed, though I will throw in Ali, Ryan, Bethany, Gail (when she's with David), David, Abi, Moira, Audrey, Liz, Evelyn, Daniel, Leanne, Toyah, Imran, Brian (when he's with Cathy), Shona & Vicky, so I still have a lot to enjoy with the show.

I also love new girl Emma, she's daft, but the actress can do it with a subtle hint of innocence, unlike Kirk.

Are you not watching Classic Corrie from the 90s? I thought you were doing that instead of current Corrie.
