Oh, even villains have a soft side Lou :F
No sarcasm at all! I like the idea of discovering a long-lost child bringing out a softer, more sensitive side to Phelan. That doesn't necessarily mean he'll become a saint but if this shakes him into realizing the way he's lived his life, I find that excellent drama. Plus, the actor sold the hell out of it.
Yes, it's much better when we see character development take a different direction. I don't think Phelan would have been as entertaining as long, if they kept him as the sinister builder he became. Plus it's made it a much more interesting story with how they built the relationship between him and Eileen, while other characters (Michael, Andy & Anna) watched in shock how he worked his way onto the cobbles.
I only wished they would invest in other characters like Dev, Maria, Chesney, Kirk (and many more) because all we get is a one dimensional story week in week out.
I really wish Michelle had just stayed in the boot. She could sing Hear Say songs until someone freed her.
The whole Leanne/Steve storyline is just annoying me now. It was really unrealistic. Everyone in the street seems to get over their past relationships very quickly.
She would never have been rescued if she had been singing Hear Say songs.
I kinda wish they would give up on Maria in general. Like, who is she? Because in all the years I've been watching, I never got any sense she had any dimensions at all. She's there, she gets generic soapy storylines thrown at her, one after another, and is a complete plot point. Maybe that used to be different, but she's as generic and basic as they come. No wonder she's so good pals with Michelle.
She is a dirty trollop with split ends.
Oh Sarah, I'm totally loving this story. I think the pairing between these two characters is perfect. There are times when I find Steve's comedy flat and then times when I think it's spot on. The scenes with him and Leanne are working great.
Mikey North is a good actor, but someone needs to give him a few alternative facial expressions.
I like the twist with Will terrorising Michelle, I just hope it doesn't drag on too long because I'm finding Michelle hard to watch. I am starting to wonder if they are turning her into the new Carla.
I can't stand either of them, sorry Ome. I think Gregson is a dreadful actor and you know I don't like Leanne. Sorry! It's an ok storyline but very unbelievable. Or maybe people do do that. I don't know anymore. I'm having a hard time figuring people out at the minute.
Yes, interesting about Will!!!! Didn't see that coming. So does that mean that Robert's mate had nothing to do with it??? Michelle has been from day one, surplus to requirements for me and just screaming in place of real acting. Have no idea why she just burst into tears last night.
I know, I do know Sarah and there are times when I find Gregson's actor too cringeworthy, even for Corrie. But that aside I do enjoy him when he gets a good story or is paired with a character that wouldn't normally mix with him.
It's looking like this and I also think Will is behind all the other stuff. Rich was a red herring in the bigger picture.
Rich, right...couldn't remember his name. Richie Rich.
I just see Gregson as a panto actor playing it all for laughs. He has got over Michelle in record time and Leanne seems to have forgotten about Nick completely. I loved Liz's comeback to Gail though about how many times she'd been married. That was funny.
Rosie's interview (if you could call it that) at the law firm was just cringeworthy - those guys need someone like Aliayah as their PA.
To be fair, so would I.
Again, I would quickly forget miserable brain damaged Nick.
I love Rosie, but that scene was just awful and stupid. I have a feeling that Gail might get the job, you know how easily it is for the residents to get local jobs on Corrie.
Gasp at the thought of introducing a new character who works on the street but lives a long way away.
Hahahahaa the first two replies....
Oh Gail...dear sweet simple Gail.....
I have a cousin exactly like Rosie. I have to leave the room or sit in the car round the corner if I think she's at home when we go to visit.
As much as I love Rosie and her ditsy ways in life, I could not cope with knowing a real Rosie. You do well to avoid
She trained as an actress at 'Jazz Hands' Italia Conti, whereas I trained in Dublin and away from any sort of jazz hands.
She is younger than me and FROM THE MINUTE I sit down she's all 'oh I know...the industry is so hard isn't it?? and oh I know.......'
Actually child, you know nothing. I'm hiding round the corner until you leave.
I agree Simon Gregosn is dreadful, a one trick pony. I think Nick summed him up perfectly when he described Steve as 'A Pint pulling Moron.'
Steve and Tracey Luv, come on. Don't yank my chain!
Kate Oates has done wonders for Corrie this year, but even she can't save Chesney. This story of his is plain awful and unconvincing.
I feel I'm having such a bad time with the show this week with all the focus on Chesney, Dev (and his vocal chords), then throw in Maria and Sean to really bring the episodes down.
havent seen Corrie in 2 weeks, tuned in last night hoping to be surprised
Dreadful acting from Gemmas no good pals with Rita and robbing the shop - just cringeworthy
