Hi Everyone, Yesterday I was watching the episode "Straight Down The Line" from season 10. In the episode there was some scenes where several characters were watching old black and white movies on TV. I have been able to identify Bogart and Bacall in one sequence and I am almost positive I saw Laurence Olivier in another. But on the whole I don't know which movie stars or which movies that were being showcased in this episode. So I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this? I think the use of the movies on the show is interesting as it's most likely their way of paying tribute to the classic movies that came before the show and probably indicates that someone who was involved in making Knots Landing loved those movies. Take care, Best wishes: Karin.
I think it's mostly Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck in Double Indemnity, perhaps the greatest film noir of them all. Walter Neff to Phyllis Phyllis Dietrichson: "From now on, it's you and me, baby, straight down the line."
I agree with JOL, BS´s movie was "Double Indemnity" (which everybody seems to be watching at some point, wise choice!). I just checked out the episode, and, first, Mack and Paula are watching one of Joan Crawford´s melodramas, Bogart & Bacall´s "To Have and Have not", then "Double Indemnity", and Olivia de Havilland & Errol Flynn´s "They Died with their Boots on". SDTL is one of my fav eppis of the latter seasons!! "They died with their boots on". Well, he did, but Livvy has probably made a pact with "someone" and will live until 150!
I'm partial to episode 240's Giganticus II: The Revenge. Action! Drama! Bad dubbing! Spoiler Register or Login to view Spoiler content!
It wasn't a real movie? Thanks for your replies. Also I think I might have mistook Errol Flynn for Laurence Olivier! Anyone know the name of the Joan Crawford movie?
