And it might actually have major consequences. Unlike your butt.
Gran Hotel season 2
Disagree. It pales in comparison to Gran Hotel’s S2 finale (per Netflix’s numbering).
Both finales centred around a celebratory event.
One featured the man of a thousand faces, the other played with the notion of it. Ie, the unknown hand at work.
Both finales had 1 family member who was shot at and a mistake had played a part in what happened; taking place in a location separate from the rest of the family who mostly had no idea that their loved one was locked up and in mortal danger.
The extended family members themselves were having drama of their own, which came to a head when all were gathered: out of the blue, the destruction.
Gran Hotel’s S2 finale is just fantastic, how they ratcheted up the tension, played that blow to the gut, the wee lull before the next blow you never saw coming in quite that way.
And in the aftermath that is the following season, a major (or not) consequence that’s à la The Colbys: “Was Camille never so lovely than on her deathbed?” (Says Zack to Sable, with lilies in his hands alluding to Monet’s painting.)
