    The Beautiful South
    Top 15

    BSA.jpg

The Beautiful South were an English pop group formed in 1988 by Paul Heaton and Dave Hemingway, two former members of the Hull group the Housemartins, both of whom performed lead and backing vocals.

    BS.jpg

After the band's first album (recorded as a quintet), they were joined by a succession of female vocalists, all of whom performed lead and backing vocals alongside Heaton and Hemingway – Briana Corrigan for albums two and three after appearing as a guest vocalist on one, followed by Jacqui Abbott for the fourth to seventh albums, and finally Alison Wheeler for the final three Beautiful South albums

The group broke up in January 2007, claiming the split was due to "musical similarities", and has sold around 15 million records worldwide.

If this was a 'Top Thirty' for The Beautiful South I still wouldn't be able to fit all my favourite songs in the list. I can't think of a
song by them which I dislike.

That's so true of this band, they created the perfect pop song in every hit and it was hard to limit it to 15 songs for me too.

    Gwen Stefani & No Doubt
    Top Ten

    g.jpg

Gwen Renée Stefani (born October 3, 1969) is an American singer, songwriter, and fashion designer. She is a co-founder and the lead vocalist of the band No Doubt that experienced major success after their breakthrough studio album Tragic Kingdom.

    yu.jpg

During the band's hiatus, Stefani embarked on a solo pop career in 2004 by releasing her debut studio album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. Inspired by pop music from the 1980s, the album was met with both critical and commercial success.

Billboard magazine ranked Stefani the 54th most successful artist and 37th most successful Hot 100 artist of the 2000–09 decade. VH1 ranked her 13th on their "100 Greatest Women in Music" list in 2012. Including her work with No Doubt, Stefani has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.

David Bowie songs covered by other artists

    Bowie.jpg

From a back catalogue of 27 studio albums and 128 singles, many artists have covered Bowie’s songs, some of them probably never should be heard again, but what about all those that blew you away, or at least impressed you enough to stick in your mind through the years?

    Great idea!

    1. Starman - Milky Edwards & The Chamberlings

A fake 60's soul version, created by the uploader himself - but the music is real, and I think it's the most creative Bowie cover I've ever heard.

    2. Rock 'N' Roll Suicide - Black Box Recorder

Perfect tune for a romantic slow-dance.

    3. Heroes - U-Traxx

Seriously pumped up, the way I like it.

    4. The Man Who Sold The World - Boys Of A New Age

These are the same. The CD single (International Chrysis) was released in 1994 and in 1995 Dead Or Alive put in on their Nukleopatra album.

So you can count my #7 as Dead Or Alive:)
