True! Though, curious, what specifically would you have had happen with that?

Exactly. Rosalind would have helped up the numbers, *AND* given Amanda something to mourn over in the aftermath.

I'd make Rosalind more of an middle class person - Amanda grew up well, but not amazingly so. So the life as a Carrington would've been more of an adjustment. Rosalind and Krystle might've become unlikely friends due to their background and mutual dislike of Alexis. And so on and so on. Just something more to add layers to Amanda's backstory instead of just taking the place as the Carrington daughter.

To elaborate on that maybe Alexis held something over Rosalind that she was using against her all those years. A reason initially for Rosalind to start looking after Amanda. After which Rosalind became very attached to Amanda and decided she wanted to keep her.

That she was too fond of younger men who looked like Maxwell Caulfield... (if you now what I mean...)

Here was she with Harry Maxfield, a famous porn star of the 70s...
    She hadn´t met Maxwell yet...

She caught her in bed with Miss Jean Brodie. I don't know, cant you fill in the blanks? I'm not Ed DeBlasio or a Pollock.

Perhaps, but I would probably avoid giving Rosalind too much to do. I'd keep her interactions limited to Amanda/Alexis/Krystle/Blake and in a recurring capacity for let's say 6-10 episodes so that viewers know very well who she is. Then kill her in Moldavia to up the body count (also have Nicole follow/stalk Jeff there - it could be painted out as a mistake that Amanda sent out an invite to her).

And kill the King AND Michael and instead let Luke live!
So Amanda would have lost Michael AND Rosalind and thus leaving her a complete trainwreck. She could become psychic and concentrate all her wrath on Alexis, as she was the one arranging all this... so she would not only take Dex away from her, but everything she has... until next cliffhanger

    Yes. :D

    Wait, "psychic"? Or "psychotic"?

That actually would be interesting... imagine after Alexis catches Amanda in bed with Dex, when mother and daughter later have a confrontation, Amanda is completely un-apologetic, saying that Alexis deserves such treachery, after she caused the deaths of Rosalind and Michael! Alexis explodes with anger and cuts Amanda out of her will and out of her life.

Later on, Amanda becomes despondent and begins to regret things; after all, this means she's lost *another* family member... but then Krystle says to Amanda, "I'm just going to have to be your mother from now on!"

This would be a loving reference to when Linda Evans' mother died while she, Linda, was still working on "The Big Valley." Linda said after she received the news, she and Barbara Stanwyck sat very quietly in her dressing room for a long time, until finally Barbara said, "I'm just going to have to be your mother from now on!" And from what Linda has said about Barbara in the years after, it seems Miss Stanwyck took that very seriously, and Linda was deeply appreciative.

Unfortunately, Krystle would still be suffering from PTSD from both the massacre and the doppelganger incident, so that prevents her from becoming quite the mother-figure Amanda needs at the moment, so the youngest Carrington still winds up in a state of depression and isolation and attempts suicide. Thankfully, Krystle comes to her senses and realizes what's going on, and is the one to rush to Amanda's rescue.

I always thought that was more realistic than Alexis just randomly deciding to check up on Amanda out of "motherly concern," especially after the former was so adamant about cutting her daughter out of her life. Of course, Alexis could still receive a phone call about Amanda and rush to the hospital where she stays by her daughter's side all night. She even remains silent when Blake comes in, opting to only spare him a look of absolute loathing before concentrating on Amanda.

When morning comes and Amanda awakens to Blake and Alexis screaming at each other, Krystle is there, and realizing that her step-daughter is getting upset, goes into Mama Bear Mode and chases Blake and Alexis out, "Amanda needs quiet! You can come back in when you've learned how to be QUIET!"

After taking a moment to calm themselves, Blake and Alexis go back in, only to hear Amanda calling Krystle "Mother."

Alexis feels like she's been stabbed in heart, but she opts to believe that Krystle has been manipulating Amanda this whole time. Alexis doesn't make a scene then, although later on when she arrives at the mansion to check up on Amanda, there is a confrontation between the two Mrs. Carrington.

"You didn't want her in your life anymore," says Krystle, radiating coolness. "You told her she wasn't your daughter anymore. So I told her she could be mine. She accepted. That's all there is to it."

I think that would better justify Alexis' rant later on about how Blake [and now Krystle] has taken "everything" from her: "My children! This house!" She now has motive to believe her children are being taken from her.
