He just said he can't stand you either.
How can you not love Barbara Stanwyck? Check out Double Indemnity or No Man of Her Own or Meet John Doe or The Strange Love of Martha Ivers or even The Thorn Birds.
i'm okay with that. i don't love Barbra Stanwyck but she's not in my list of favorites either. i haven't seen that much of work to be fair either
I cannot stand Emma Roberts. She is a nasty little bitch in everything I watch her in.
And..to the surprise of many, I can't have Leonardo de Caprio either:
He looks quite bland and radiates smugness. But more importantly I don't care for his acting.
My first awareness of him was when I watched Fracture in the cinema. He ruined an otherwise great film for me with this annoying, attention-seeking whisper acting throughout: he'd start speaking a line in a normal volume and say the last few words in a stage whisper. And then there was that vocal fry. And the mannered acting - touching his face, chewing gum and waving his hands about. By the end of the film I'd made a mental note to actively avoid his work in future.
Truthfully I've been surprised by his success since then. He seems to be quite a big deal to people and I just don't get it.
My friend has a cushion with his face on it. Which he sits on. I just haven't been able to take him seriously for years because of that.
Romy Schneider. Recently watched Elizabeth and just hated her. But the camera shooting and the Alpean scenery is magnificant.
That is all for now lol'
see i like Tom Cruise as an actor as a human being i think he's a douch bag. there is just so many out there i don't like that aside from the ones that i named already i can't think of anymore at the moment. oh Hugh Hefner i don't give a rat's ass how much money he has, what he created or how many women he's slept with i can't the man.
From soaps, I must confess a surprising fact...I hate Priscilla Presley, Sheree Wilson and Tracy Sluttins Scoggins.
I hardly hate any movie actor because I try to watch movies with a positive attittude. Even so, I´d have to be handcuffed and tied to a chair to watch a movie starring John Travolta. I mean, any movie at all. I just don´t like him as an actor. And he´s an incredibly dumb person, with that Scientology stuff coming out of his (big) mouth. I also think he is a repressed g*y and he probably felt fabulous when she went drag for "Hairspray"...
ACTOR: Patrick Warburton (a one-note joke that's been overplayed)
ACTRESS: Jennifer Aniston (I very much like her father, however)
There are actors I suspect I wouldn't really like if I knew them in person, but I don't really "dislike" seeing any actor in a role that fits them and they pull off sufficiently.
I mean, I'm glad I didn't know Albert Salmi and I'm especially glad I wasn't married to him.
But who else could play DALLAS' Gil Thurman with such exquisitely greasy bravura? No one, I say.
see i'm a huge Travolta Fan i love him as an actor but when it comes to his religion or what i call a cult i honestly don't give a rats ass about that. i try and focus on his acting and not his beliefs. or really anyone who belongs in that that i'm a fan of like Issac Hayes for one i'm a fan of his but not of his religion i can again separate them.
Have any of you come across any other movie performers that you do not care for?
oh there's plenty of them i can't stand Channing Tatum is one of them. he has done some good movies don't get me wrong. but he can't act his way out of a paper bag. and he's got 2 things on why he gets the the roles he does, his looks and he's got a damn good agent.
Mia is a sociopath and lied about Woody.
ANNIE HALL (1975) will probably always be my favorite, but I consider CURSE OF THE JADE SCORPION (2001) to be underrated (although I hear Woody doesn't like it any more than the critics did).
I used to love Tom Cruise once upon a time, from Risky Business and Top Gun to Rainman and The Firm and Minority Report and The War of the Worlds you mentioned. Then it's like some switch went on and I started loathing him. A friend insisted we watch The Mummy at home and it (he) was awful.
She was a powerhouse there.
If there are actors I don't like, I just avoid them so I don't really think about them much. Something about Tom Cruise's ever-growing cult weirdness is a rare instance of someone I liked for years and then I stopped.
I also hate it when actors I really like star in movies I end up hating, which I watched just because they were in it. Ethan Hawke: I am looking at you and First Reformed. Do not avert your eyes.
Was it cause he electrocuted Oprah?
I don't loathe Tom Cruise, I just find it difficult to enjoy his on-screen presence.
And I thought he was great when he was in that 1974-76 NBC legal series Petrocelli as Tony Petrocelli's investigator Pete Ritter (Tony of course played by Barry Newman, w/Susan Howard [later as Donna on O-R CBS Dallas] as his wife Maggie).
