Bloopers

I have been requested to make a post about the origin of the Dallas bloopers.
In actual fact this tape circulating the net is called the Dallas gag reel. At the end of each season the production team would put together this gag reel containing errors and practical jokes as a souvenir for each cast member. They were compiled for each season so 13 exist.

I have the first 4 years worth of bloopers if someone wants to trade even up for the later ones (tape for tape) :-).

I acquired a bloopers tape too from a fellow in the United States. However, it was a very poor copy. I am guessing at maybe a 10th generation copy. Even on the Channel 4 night when a clip was shown it was bad quality....

I get the impression that the video was not really for public consumption as it was very coarse. Swear words, drooling and silly behaviour. But it was fun to watch though!

Does anyone know how the tape go into the piracy world? I'm guessing that a former crew member got a tape and just sold it on. Does anyone know of anybody who actually has an original copy? Hmmmmmm.

I wonder whether the cast actually wanted to allow it to be seen by the public? I know some film productions keep their outakes etc amongst the crew and cast as a souvinir for the time they worked with each other...

There is a newsgroup that deals in video trading and this is where I usually find my hard to find stuff. Much of it is production copies and looks pretty good. I wish I had the exact name of it, but if you do a search on outlook express, you will come up with it :-).

Does anyone know where you can find any of this on the Web? This site used to have some you could download, but it seems to be out of commission now. Any update on that?
