The Giobertis were the closest until Chase screwed up in season 6.
I voted for the Giobertis. They had some rocky times but the majority of the time overcomed them.
Richard is on the telephone discussing mortgaging the New Globe, so that Maggie can get $30,000,000 to buy Angela’s claim note, Falcon Crest 1987:
Garth: “But Sir.”
Richard: “Garth. Edward the 8th gave up the throne of England for the love of a woman. The least I can do is give up a lousy little newspaper.”
Yep the Giobertis put the others to shame. They cooked together and ate together. However in later seasons Cole albeit in Australia didn't appear for his father's memorial and there was no sign of Vicky or Cole at Maggie's funeral. This in many ways was a let down.
Chase has just returned from the hospital, after getting shot outside Wainright’s cabin. Angela arrives at the Gioberti castle house, to make her peace. However Chase is suspicious (A scene from season 6, 1986-87).
Chase: “That bullet hit my back, not my brain.”
Angela: “No one would ever guess!”
