Can anybody shed any light on the rumours concerning a brand NEW Knots Landing mini-series? Is there any truth in it?

Unlike the cast of Dallas, the entire cast of Knots Landing are indeed planning on coming back for a new reunion. A rough script has been tossed around and from what I read Laura will return. It seems she told the doctors to tell everyone she died while they looked for a cure. The big news is that there's even talk of bringing the show back to life in some form. I stress that this is all still in the planning stages.

What source did this information come from? A spokesperson for Joan Van Ark recently stated that there will NEVER be another Knots Landing reunion project.

I don't know if there will be a Dallas or Knots Landing reunion or not, but I believe in the saying "Never believe what an actor says." I suppose this holds true for their spokespeople as well, lol!

I have no idea if they plan on another movie or mini-series, but it makes a lot of people happy to sit and speculate, so I'm not going to play wet blanket.
The original mini had a lot of false starts and stops, as I recall, and several stars came out saying it had fallen apart, only to be resurrected. I think it would be much more fun to create a miniseries that was six to eight, one-hour episodes (rather than two, two-hour segments). They could run them during the rerun season of summer. People tend to jump on anything that isn't a rerun in summer!
Anyway, let the speculation continue. I love talkign about the show, even if the chat might not lead to anything.

Abby (to herself, sarcastically): "I bet they could make a movie out of this one. 'I want to be with you, Abby....oh, by the way, this is my wife, Judith.' 'Oh, *do* call me Judith...' [rolls eyes] I'd like to call you a cab!"

I deffinetly hope that the rumor about knots coming back is true!!! I also hope that tnt decides to rerun or something because where I live, there is no Soap Net.

I certainly hope so, I think a reunion or even a new series would do good! They don't make them like they used too, so if they tried to re-create the same kind of series.....it would be a hit!

Does anybody know for SURE that Knots Landing
is coming back for a new reunion?

If they do have a Knots reunion they need to incorporate more fan favorites like the ever sparkling Kathleen Noone (Claudia Whittaker). I mean she just came off a great run as Aunt Bette on Sunset Beach and this would be a great time to show off her comedic skills. Also she and Michelle Phillips (Anne Winston Matheson Sumner)could have some great cat fights. Another long lost favorite is Charlene Tilton (Lucy Ewing). She needs to let her parents know that she is alive and kicking. Also it would be good for some extra suprise by having Lisa Hartman Black return as Cathy Geary. Maybe she could shake things up with Gary and Val?

Really, was Kevin Dobson on that programme. What for? I think I saw Michael York on it one week. I would have liked to have seen the one with Kevin Dobson on it though.

yeah, he was in some 70's tv prog, could have been Kojak. Yes I'm sure it was definatly Kojak. Yup cos he was talking about Telly Savalas or whatever that ugly old (dead) man was called. Sorry that sounded a bit nasty...but that man gives me the creeps. I wish I'd taped it but wasn't prepared.

a 12 year old thread!!! Wow!!
No, I don't think KL would make a come back. I'd love it to, but I doubt it. Maybe a movie??

Hmm, I say why not bring it back, "Dallas" was surprisingly good and it would be fantastic if "Knots Landing" returned, too!

They should at least try to make a 2-hour TV movie special and see how it does in the ratings.

With the new Dallas apparently doing well and Gary & Val scheduled to appear in the next season, the chances for a Knots revival are probably better now than they've ever been.

I feel that way too. Who would have thought in 2000 that we will have Val and Gary guest starring on the new Dallas 13 years later?
