Just heard the sad news, I'm speechless even when I had bad feeling after I saw a bts pic of him last week.RIP Larry.

Let season two of the new show be a tribute for him and JR.

I think I'll stop crying and being so down on it and so upset. Larry being Larry, he would probably want us to celebrate him and just be happy he was around and part of our lives and made us happy to include him as part of a family most of us never met. I think I will try to go forward in that spirit and just be grateful instead of depressed.

I am devastated today!!!!! The news I NEVER wanted to hear!!!! The only time I have cried over an actor. I feel just like I've lost a family member!!!! He was my idol and I have rooted for JR since I was 8. I am just sick by this and really shocked as I thought he had pretty much beaten it! I knew this was coming but I thought it would be several years away. They waited too damn long to do this re-boot!!!!!! I really hope that Cidre gives us some amazing scenes to hold onto!!!!! I pray that JR finally got his time in the sun!!!!! I will never stop watching him on DVD and that's just what I'll be doing today. No actor or character will ever come close to comparing to ol JR!!! God bless you Larry!!!! Doug loves ya!!!!!!!! Keep on wheeling and dealing my friend!!!!

Thanks BF, that was the first time I ever saw him too. What a lovely day it was.

I am still shocked about the death of Larry. It's the worst news I've received all year.

Thank you Larry for the memories and thank you to my forum friends. I will cherish the memories of going to fan events together forever.

My condolances goes out to Larry's family, to Maj, their children, grandchildren and also to his Dallas family.
I am glad that he got to experience the comeback of Dallas. He really loved this show!

    Take care,

Although I'm heartbroken over Larry's death, I'm comforted and grateful that he was able to find some happiness late in his life after the sad news of his wife's Alzheimer's disease. Being apart again of something that was so central to his life, Dallas, puts a smile on my face knowing that Larry Hagman was happy and at peace and surrounded by family and friends in the end.

Larry Hagman was a great actor and brought years of entertainment into the homes of many. Dallas has been my favorite show since it's beginning and he has been one of my favorite actors since his days in I Dream of Jeanie. I will miss seeing him on Dallas and wish to give my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I've just read the news. I was busy working for 2 days. I hardly believe it. I'm devastated. Like everybody. Larry Hagman was more than an actor or Jr to me, he used to be a teacher, I learnt my profession watching him and Linda Gray and Barbara Bel Geddes and so on... He won't ever know it, but he taught me how to act... Besides, the Ewing familly remains a part of my life, FOR they used to be a part of my youth, my teenage years... I happen to write and work as an actor mostly because I came across writers and actors. Larry Hagman was one of them (even if I never met him) As far as I'm concerned, "Swan song" was the best dramatic art lesson I've ever had...
I'm so sad. I won't express how much I am. How much he gave to me without even being aware of it.
But... What a wonderful life! What a wonderful legacy! It is what we ought to keep in mind.
Thank you so much Mister Hagman.

Although I'm not very religious, but I feel (or better: wish) that Larry gets all this love that is sended with every little post on this board and from his fans all around the world on his way up to.. wherever he might go. I think he'll feel it... somehow/somewhere.
A rose for you, Mr. Hagman - thank you so much for everything.

I just don't believe it yet. Somehow, I expect him to return to the "Dallas" set on a pig truck and wipe off everybody's tears.

I have actually smiled a lot today thinking of all the wild and wacky things I read over the years about Larry

I love that he was unique, eccentric and beat to his own drum. It was refreshing. So many stories, from all the drinking, to Hagman having his van brought to Dallas in 1978 and the cast huddling in it together, drinking and keeping warm. His anti-smoking stance, the stories of him not speaking one day a week. I love all of the drama over his \strong arming CBS into a pay raise after J.R was shot.

I think my favorite story is the 'Naked sauna bathing' the entire Hagman family (below, Mom, Dad, son and daughter, supposedly did on a regular basis. Wonder if VP and her buoy's ever joined in... R.I.P to an talented and unique human being!

Gosh Luke, i have never seen that photo before thanks

"The family that bathes together , stays together"

and If miss Principal did participate, I would imagine it was a full tub that day!

In this fickle world of Z list celebrities and blandness, Larry was a ray of sunshine - his eccentricity just added to his character and made you love him all the more

cant believe how sad i feel today

    We are all mourning Larry.

    But...

    Lucille Ball?
    Bob Hope?
    Milton Berle?
    Johnny Carson?
    Carroll O' Connor?
    Bea Arthur?
    Don Knotts?
    John Ritter?
    Lassie?

    We have lost many greats.

I like so many others are shocked and saddened by the passing of Larry Hagman. I never watched Dallas during its initial run because I was to young, but I do remember my parents watching it. Just by chance I got back from class one afternoon and was flipping through stations and came upon Soapnet and saw Dallas on. I remembered my parents talking about it and decided to watch. Lucky me it was the episode "Barbeque". Needless to say I was hooked, every day I would race back to the dorms from class by noon to watch 2 episodes a day. JR just took over the show and you were mesmerized by his acting. Every scene Mr. Hagman was in he took over. Soon I began buying all the DVD's that were out at the time and I would talk to my parents about Dallas. I just keep buying the DVD's as they came out and now have the whole collection. Which i treasure and will watch a few hours a week.

It is very weird but it feels like a family member has been lost. I guess you spend so much time, years watching a character they feel almost real to you. I don't know if anyone else feels that way. My girlfriend watches Dallas with me not by choice and has seen about 3/4 of the episodes. Even not being a big fan she was saddened by the loss. She said the one thing about Dallas was JR. Now I am just rambling but all i want to really say is we have lost a great piece of Americana and he will be for ever missed. Rest in piece Mr. Hagman you may have brought joy to millions but I can tell you of one person you really did.

Yes wonderful memories in deed. One thing I remember about this day is me being all like:

"I feel like it's Christmas" and you BA telling me:

"Remember Karin, Dallas is not just for Xmas, it's for life!"
