Great scene in The Brothers Ewing

Such a strong episode, I really love the character developments in this one. Star performances from Hagman, Duffy, Kanaly and Keel. It's a shame BBG wasnt around to deliver those great Ellie lines too.

Anyway - this episode contains possibly my favourite Dallas scene: the chat JR and Bobby have outside Southfork. Everything about this scene is sensational. It's the very moment when, after flirting with it for years, Bobby finally decides to shed his integrity and do whatever is necessary to save Ewing Oil. And it plays out beautifully. The way neither one of them looks the other in the eye, Bobby's indignant expression when JR basically confesses he was ready to f**k Bobby over during the battle for Ewing Oil, followed by a little smile dancing across his face when he realises JR's devious genius can save their necks now. Of course JR then pushes his luck by blurting out "There's loads of things we can do, some of them may be a little dirty" Then when Ray throws his lot in and they confront Clayton (another classic JR line: "We'll swap our prime land for your worthless land"!!).

First class. If any episode sums up why Dallas is so great, this is one of them.
