Default The way they have beem written: "Christopher and Rebecca Ewing"

Yes, I wish Cynthia Cidre had written this another way but I can live with it and accept it. I love them together as do many others. The important issue for me is that young Mr. and Mrs. Ewing do not share any DNA, they are not biologically related and they did not grow up together. Therefore, I have no issues whatsoever with this marriage or this pairing. None!! It's done!! Children are on their way. I am thrilled!!

For any that may have issue with them being legally related, let me say a few things.

What if it had been written so that Rebecca did not know that Cliff is her dad and she ended up married to Chris, happy with twins on the way and then she and Chris found out about Cliff? Would she be expected to end the marriage, abort her children because she and Chris are legally related but not biologically?

The only issue here is due to how Cidre has written this, that she (Rebecca) knew about Chris and Pam but the fact that there is no DNA shared with Chris is why she allowed herself to fall in love with him and why that line was crossed.

If they had grown up together in the same family unit then I would have an issue with this but that is not the case. I am totally on board with Christopher and Rebecca Ewing. She is so much better with him than Elena.

When Rebecca was born - weren't Pam and Bobby divorced? I know they reunited. But if Rebecca was born in 1984, then that was the year that Bobby was with Jenna Wade.

You're righ Quiche, Bobby was with Jenna in 1984. However, Bobby & Pam did re-marry later, and Cliff still called Christopher his nephew after Pam's disappearance.

Also, Lucy Ewing re-married Mitch Cooper, Rebecca's uncle in 1985.

A lot of family ties going on here, haha

(Should we mention that both their grandparents were involved a century ago? When Ellie dated Digger...or that Rebecca's mother, Afton, also slept with JR Ewing, or Sue Ellen being Christopher's NATURAL aunt & for while they thought Christopher was JR's son, ...or Jenna having Bobby's baby, raised by Bobby's illegitimate half-brother, Ray.....Wow, I never realized how twisted its always been!)

None of it matters. Legally, there is no barrier to Christopher and Rebecca's marriage. Their only problem is that he is in love with Elena. Now THAT'S the problem. And that problem won't go away too soon.

'Ranch Hand number 3' or 'Woman at Bar' are more interesting then Elena. I really like Rebecca and I think she's going to stand out this season. Rebecca and Christopher are great together but I can't help but wonder if there could be a more intriguing combo on the horizon. )

Not that it's a legal barrier, but it sure as hell is gonna send little whiney Chris into a frenzy when he finds out Cliff Barne's daughter! It'd almost be better if she was just a poor nobody trying to earn a buck, but doing it for his vindictive uncle!?

Oh Christopher won't find out for a long time. There is no fun with the story if Christopher finds out right away.

Not knowing and knowing but going ahead with the relationship anyway are two different things, IMO. The Lucy/Ray incest was "better" because they didn't know. But Rebecca knowing and going ahead and marrying her cousin is wrong, IMO. And his being adopted is irrelevant, IMO.

Well, the fact that is adopted is relevant in this case in my view because the have already had sex several times in fact. Children are on the way. It's done! And only a few if that, has issues because the two are related only legally. They share no DNA and they did not grow up together. So, it works for me.

This happens in real life where actual DNA is shared. Example:

The former King and Queen of Greece are bilogically related, they are are 3rd or 4th cousins and they share the same great grandparents. The children are Princes and Princesses of Denmark as well as Greece because the King of Greece is also a Danish Prince in his own right and the Queen is a Danish Princess in her own right as well.

They are married and have been for years with grown children and grandkids. This happens on a biological level in real life instances and a select few are uptight because Christopher a is adopted but shares no DNA with his wife who is the mother of this twins? This is television but it does happen in real life where DNA IS SHARED.

Team Christopher and Rebecca Ewing here! I have no problem with this pairing, their marraige or their children that are on the way.
