I find Bobby incredibly boring. When I was five, he was Prince Charming that wasn't a cartoon or a pop-up book. I loved him because he was a man of honour who wouldn't cheat on his wife, no matter how perilously close he came and he wouldn't compromise his integrity in business either. As I grew older, I liked it when they showed the conflicted Bobby who wanted to do the right thing but his competition for Daddy's love, made him break laws when he felt it was necessary but we still got to see his mental anguish about turning to the dark side.

Now, Bobby is forever just a dumb schmuck who doesn't care for his former Juliet, never searched for her, sells Southfork selfishly because he doesn't trust his son to keep it out of the hands of JR and John Ross, gets down in the mud and feels no remorse...and he's married to a woman who threatens to shoot people at the drop of a hat....sashays into her ex husband's office in a temptress role to blackmail her ex to prevent him from blackmailing her defenseless friend...a friend who can't defend herself against a very weak blackmailer who lets a woman punch him and carry a recording that proves he's a blackmailer out of his office....and believes that defenseless, bribing, pitiful woman has the potential to stand up against crime and run the state of Texas.

Dumb, da dumb, dumb, dumb...that's the new Bobby Ewing in my opinion....he's no longer special/unique...he's just average and corrupted.

JR was definitely a scene stealer, but far too little screentime & little plot. Sue Ellen was also my attention grabber, but maybe perhaps because she only had little screentime that I was constantly wondering what they would do with her.

Overall "best" though, i'd have to say John Ross.

I do wonder how they'll juggle screen time next year though...Linda & fans are already complaining about Sue Ellen's limited time, so hopefully they're trying to write more for her, but JR was extremely limited too. Now that Larry is healthier, i'd hope they write more for him as well. That may prove difficult while trying to keep the main focus on John Ross/Chris and still introducing new characters, Ann's daughter & Elena's brother.

Ive gone for John Ross, i think josh henderson will get bigger badder and better, no disrespect to JR glad he's there put doesnt seem to have the same impact. My second choice would br Rebecca who proved in the last few episodes shes one to watch and enjoyable to watch. Also the cast on the whole are great and no one to dislike IMO

Remember the old saying from the original series:

JR Ewing: the man we all love to hate.

Except for me. I love to love him!
Yes, JR. The answer is yes. You were the love of my life!

I couldn't pass over JR, regardless of what little screen time he's had. I'm hoping he'll be well enough for much more screen time and a bigger plot next season. But besides JR, I'd have to go with John Ross. We were all expecting him to be a chip off the old block. A junior JR. But he wasn't. What a pleasant surprise. He had his daddy's charm and he was shrewd and tough, but he had a big heart too, and a conscience. He was his own man. Henderson did a fantastic job making John Ross one of the most interesting characters of the season. Never knew what to expect from him.
