Default Could famed female illusionist Charles Busch channel Jeanne Cooper?

I thought of this while looking at some photos of Ms. Cooper from the '70s. I've always thought of her as giving off that vibe of a man-in-drag, with no disrespect to Ms. Cooper in any way. Check them out if you think there are any similarities.

If Cooper needed to take some time off, that's the unfortunate sort of stunt casting that would be right up Jill Farren Phelps's alley.

But then, he couldn't do any worse than Giselle McKenzie did in that temp recast back in the 1980s.

I had no idea that there was ever a recast period! Incidentally it happened the year I was born, 1986.

I think it was nice that they felt they had to do a stunt-casting thing (McKenizie was a well-known singer) rather than just write her out (she's Katherine Freakin' Chancellor, people!), but it just reminded viewers how that role was owned by JC. I can't imagine they would ever recast the role if JC were to leave.

Personally I would love to see professional drag performers reenact famous soap moments. However, I'm afraid so much of the young gay community would just turn their heads like a dog in confusion. How sad that is....
