Christmas in the UK and Ireland has always been advertised with Santa on a sleigh, reindeers, snow etc... it's all about being cosy and curled up beside a warm fire and your Christmas tree and your kitties! December in the UK has a tendency to be FREEZING, quite literally and we experienced 2 very very harsh winters recently.
SO, lots of my friends have recently emigrated from Ireland to Australia and it got me thinking due to the seasons being opposite to here. If Australia celebrate Christmas in their summer, what way is it advertised?? Is Santa not awfully warm in the heat? Is it weird for those of you in Oz to think of us celebrating in snow, the way it is weird for us to see photos of you on the beach on Christmas Day??
Does Santa fly on reindeers?? Does he still come down the chimney???
Would love to hear of your experiences!![]()
