Sable should have gone over the balcony, too

In another thread kevinbabes wrote there was a rumor that Adam was to push Dex into Alexis AND Sable and all three go crashing over the balcony. That way the fate of Sable and baby was also in the balance....
And that´s why Sable had a stunt double for this scene...



Has anyone informations about this detail?

I'd never heard that. It would've been reasonable for that to happen, but since we didn't see Sable in the reunion, I'm glad she didn't go over the balcony.
I did read detailed spoilers in a tabloid that had Blake killing Alexis and getting the electric chair, and Sable wound up with custody of Krystina and control of Blake's fortune.

Yes witchboy - I have a tabloid newspaper cutting from 1988, that i will try to find, thats says that Alexis tries to win Blake back, but when he rejects her, she goes to prison and gets the electric chair - or lethal injection - that was still to be decided. And with no make-up! LOL Ah the British tabloids - gotta love 'em

I think you're right I had it reversed. Alexis was to kill Blake and be executed. Glad we got the ending we got instead, with a happy ending in the reunion.

I loved ther ending we got with season 9 - It was dramatic indeed and was a brilliant ending to the series - but the reunion I just hated in every sense of the word. The costumes by Nolan Miller being the exception on that statement.

1 - No Sable whatsoever and almost as bad - NO MENTION of her whatsoever or Monica
2 - Fallon suddenly has got back with Miles and back to fighting with Jeff - loved their banter in season 9
3 - Alexis having forgotten about Colbyco and into the fashion business - come on!!
4 - The Consortium - Jeremy Van Dorn - seemed totally forced to me and back to teh crappy story lines of season 7 and 8
5 - Gordon Thomson not involved
6 - No David Paulsen - speaks for itself
7 - And personally I wouyld have preferred to have picked up teh storyline just after the cliffhanger of season 9

The reunion was flawed, no doubt, but I do like that we got a sense of closure on the characters that were there. Krystal was out of her coma, Steven was happy with Bart and Blake finally accepting Steven, having the great and gorgeous Al Corey back as Steven., all great things.
I do wish that there had been at least a mention of Sable, Monica, Dominique and Amanda, but at least they didn't do anything bad to them either. All of them were at least safe and alive last we saw them.
Recasting Adam was a disaster. Adam is another favorite. I know that GT was already committed to Santa Barbara and couldn't do the reunion, but the recast didn't work at all. I don't think he was a bad actor, I've liked him in other things, he just wasn't right for the part.
Consortium, Alexis abandoing Colbyco, all mistakes. I waffle on pairing Adam with Kirby, but I'm so distracted by fake Adam that trumps my misgivings about Kirby and Adam.
Still, I was still glad to see the characters that were there again, and to get some closure. Maybe we'll get a new series and this won't be the end anyways.

But yes it could have been worse witchboy - as you say at least they didnt kill off the other characters. And who knows - if they bring Dynasty back we might see them again

They should have just written Adam out in the reunion- I thought it was unforgivable what he did to Virginia in season 9 and Blake was finally wise to how awful Adam was- it would have been more true to life if both he and Alexis had ridden themselves of him by then. That he would trample Krystle's memory, Blake's trust by doing what he did to Virginia- which there wasn't even a reason for- he was just doing it because he was a mean awful person- it was nice in the season Blake was finally waking up to what a monster he was.

It seemed only logical that they would also have Sable over the balcony, you would think they would want people to speculate if she survived, would she also have lost the baby? Maybe they didn't want Collins to be able to insist Sable die if they wanted any sort of return of her- they said she was not returning to the show, but you know- sometimes that is just a contract ploy or whatever.

I personally would have loved to see both Alexis and Sable tumble with Dex. I remember watching it the first time it aired here in Britain in 1989 and being disappointed that they didnt all tumble over. The whole thing would have been much bigger for exactly the reasons ronald mascot has said above - the fact if the baby would have survived, which bitch would survive. Then when season 10 returned - Sable, who would have survived but lost the baby, would have ammo against Alexis and Adam - and she could become queenbitch out of grieve and fueled hatred.

I'd rather Adam have been left out than be recast too. I think GT being unavailable was a last minute problem, so scripts were already written.

That is some fantastic big hair Sable is rocking.
It is curious that SB had a stunt double. Maybe they even filmed an alternate take where Sable did fall too.
It is pretty apropriate for Adam to be responsible for pushing Dex off the balcony, and inadvertently sending Alexis off the balcony too. Adam was always out of control and dangerous.

Wouldnt it be great to see outtakes of scenes - things the didnt use or cut out - especially the balcony. Even seeing someone taking footage behind the scenes

Oh. Well, it is cool that GT did the pushing, it's much more effective to see the expressions on his face during the scene, his horror when Alexis goes over the balcony with Dex.
I've seen a picture ages ago of Alexis being crowned queen in a marriage to Galen, apparently they filmed that while they had the chapel rented but obviously never used the scene., I think because the audiance wasn't responding well to the Moldavain story. My mom still will mention how stupid it was that everybody lived after the massacar. Of course, they didn't all live, but since none of the leads were killed or even seriously injured, that's how it's remembered.
That would make a fantastic bonus feature on one of the dvds but as far as I know that footage has never been seen in the general public outside of the odd promotional photo that was leaked.

Ah yes I think I have seen that photo as well - the Coronation - from the fuzzy copy I saw of the photo - Alexis looked very matronly?? I dont think I have a copy of that pic.
But you are again right - I think they should have cut down one or two of the lead actors - after all they never really used Dominique after that storline anyway or Claudia. Or even killing off Prince Michael.

I'd for sure have killed off Galen and his father, and maybe have spared Luke.
Claudia could've been killed off, but I do love Claudia. I have to admit that neither Claudia or Dominique was well used after this.
