I found a good way to work Mitch into the show,give Lucy's relationship with him a final closure and have it make sense without taking up too much time.
In season 2 ..Bobby's cancer is obviously getting worse..so..they direct him to a special clinic..and Mitch is the cheif doctor in charge of the new procedures and treatments. it can show us an older, more in charge mitch who is now at the top of his field of research.

Couldn't stand him in the original series, but I'd take him back if he brought Afton along.

I was never a fan of Mitch either..I found him too proud and whiny..but that the reason I'd like to see him as a mature doctor with a huge career and a changed attitude now.

I would rather see him run over by a bus just as he begins to utter his first line.

I really didn't like Mitch. He was a right party pooper.
