Most Americans think President Barack Obama’s health care reform law will harm taxpayers and businesses, while helping those directly threatened by a lack of health care, according to a Gallup Poll released Monday.

Sixty percent believe the law will make things worse for taxpayers, 57 percent think it will do so for businesses, 51 percent think it will do so for doctors and 46 percent think people with health insurance will be worse off.

When you borrow money, you have to have collateral. What do you think our country is using as collateral for the TRILLIONS of dollars it is borrowing? The answer is OUR NATIONAL PARKS!

Whether Obmacare is good or bad is a moot point. The point is that WE CAN NOT AFFORD to pay for it. The only thing keeping our nation afloat is that the US dollar has the status as the world standard currency. If we lose that status, and we are in very real danger of doing so, the bottom will drop out from under the Dollar overnight and it will be worth less then the Peso. Look up "World standard currency" and it will scare the hell out of you.

Okay, what is the lesser of two evils:

-Birth control, sterilization, and exams & labwork made available to every woman who doesn't necessarily want a child?

OR

-An endless supply of food stamps, Medicaid, and TANF to every pregnant woman you see with 4 other small children around her?


I once had to make the walk of shame downtown to apply for assistance when I hit hard times. I have no children and I'm not ready for one. Guess what I qualified for? Nothing! I was a student, recently laid off and had filed for unemployment. I pounded the pavement and searched online for work every day, but they told me I was disqualified because I was a student and didn't have a job working at least 20 hours a week (no shit, I had been laid off five days earlier) and I wasn't doing federal work-study through school (at the whopping pay out of $7.25 an hour for 15 hours a week, I was making more at my full time job that I lost). I was like "Okay, so give me a job! I'll work!!" No such luck, and not even $200 a month in food stamps to eat. Guess what the pregnant woman with four kids qualified for? EVERYTHING. Cash benefits for her ankle biters and the guy who was sitting there with her, too.

But I guess since I'd like help getting the pill for the painful mess that results if I'm not taking any....that makes me a slut. I'm not taking birth control pills for the mere fact that my cramps will bring me to my knees in the middle of a crowded supermarket....let's not even talk about the blood....no!! I'm so much of a slut and I'm so damn good at it that I recently decided to become a full-fledged whore. Why not make some extra cash while I'm at it? I need SOME way to pay for my lifestyle, after all.

Fireweaver, didn't we have this same discussion with Carl in another thread? What is it with men who don't understand how important women's healthcare is? Birth control and gynecological exams are not just for pregnancy prevention. There are so many things we have to be screened for now---cysts, cancer, endometriosis---the list goes on. My good friend from high school is fighting stage III ovarian cancer right now at age 26. She had her first surgery this week to remove some of the tumors---JUST now, at stage III. You know what her biggest hangup was besides losing her organs? MONEY.

Putting a price tag on healthcare is effing ridiculous. I maintain that it should be a right, not a privilege.

This is not uncomon though. A lot of older virgins will cover up their insecurity of it by condomning sex all together. They make it seem like it's their choice not to participate as it is an evil, foul deed. Quite sad really.
