Default You have to believe me

Rebecca repeating this statement over and over to Christopher and Anne was the most annoying thing to me in ep 5
I kept thinking... No they dont

I may believe that she didn't know about the sent email, but she sure knew what she was doing when she set out to meet Christopher.

Rebecca remains the most boring character on Dallas. Frankly, the actress is terrible. The story sucks too. The sooner they end that, the better.

Yep. Julie Gonzalo is the weakest link in the cast IMO. I hated the way she wimpered when she told Christopher about the email. I'm completely unimpressed with her.

I'm totally the opposite. I think she is excellent, you guys seem to be pretty harsh. I also believe she is a great little actress. I loved her in the pilot, she played the ambiguity spot on.

She is actually my fav character in the new series.

I like her too and I like her acting. I hope they figure out what to do with her in order to keep her around. Hopefully she's pregnant.

I think you are right. And that is exactly what they are trying to convey in her character, an intense desperation to hold on to her husband. I think Julie G.'s acting in this was very good.

I'm hoping she'll improve, but I find her acting to be inconsistant at best. Yes, she played the ambiguity well and she's good in the scenes with her brother Tommy, but I don't think she's good at some of the emotional stuff. For example, when Christopher told her about Elena being there for him after finding out Bobby had cancer, her response seemed weak. I don't like the way she wimpers when Rebecca is expressing a sad or nervous reaction to something. Then again, I felt that emotional scenes weren't Victoria Principal's strong suit either during the early years of the original.

Funny enough it must say something about me because I always fall for those Pam types. It's taken five episodes to feel I have an emotional investment in the characters and hers in particular. But I do hope she doesn't become a whiny Pam type. She started off great in the pilot, I enjoyed her digs in the pilot. They appeared to backtrack in the second episode where she told Ann she felt bad.

I'm also enjoying the Rebecca character a lot and I do see a lot of early Victoria Principal in her emotional scenes. I don't want her becoming that whiny type either but I think she'll improve at it like Vicky did. There were scenes in the middle of the original series run where Victoria Principal emoted to the point that I nearly cried along with her and can definitely see that kind of potential in Julie G.

Yes, Victoria's acting in emotional scenes improved greatly over the course of the show. Julie Gonzalo always sounds like she's short of breath when she gets emotional, which makes her sound like a whiny puppy. Hopefully she'll improve over time as well. However, it feels like Rebecca's becoming a bit of a sap.
