Default Why were so many women in love with Bobby?

I can understand Jenna since they had a prior relationship, but why did good-looking, wealthy woman like Holly Harwood and the wacko, Katherine who could have had any man they wanted, pursue Bobby who was either married or in love with someone else?

Yes, Bobby was rich, handsome and the good son (or often perceived as such even though he had his share of less than ethical acts), but why so much emphasis on everyone wanting him?

It was probably in Patrick Duffy's contract. An ego-stroking clause. Just like JR slept with hundreds of beautiful women over the course of the show. Really? Haha.

Katherine I get though. She wasn't in love with Bobby. She was crazy. I probably would be too if my father's estate got divided up between myself and the two long lost siblings I never wanted who inadvertently caused my mother to die as well.

Because he was rich, handsome and the good son.

What I want to know is why Bobby fell in love with Jenna? Or did he ever really love her? Especially the Jenna played by Priscilla Presley. She was so whiney, nasty and combative. Always picking fights with him. Her jealousy of Pam was above and beyond normal. She behaved like an immature child half the time. She had no redeeming qualities that I could see. How could he fall for her? Maybe he never really did. Maybe she was just a rebound after Pam dumped him. Maybe he was desperately clinging to the memory of her and their childhood love.
Yes, JR. The answer is yes. You were the love of my life!

I can imagine a young Jenna being lovely, a nice innocent pretty girl who Bobby was in love with. But then her family all appeared to have died. I imagine that wasn't nice, then she moved to Europe and met Naldo. He wasn't nice either. She ended up Knocked up young and raising a kid herself. Then she came back to Dallas and Bobby probably thought Jenna was the same pretty, sweet and innocent young girl.... She wasn't. Life had changed into a crazy, crying, jealous witch. And Bobby found that out hard way.

I am a young woman. I walk into the room at SF, where Bobby, JR, Gary Ray. I do not know their nature, so I choose by appearance. My first choice is Bobby. In an interview with him know that he is nice, very friendly, quite clever, awkward funny.
Not Pamela, these women could be more. No I'm kidding. If not for Pam, Bobby would have found another true love.
Today, I would have preferred Christopher!

He is sweet, handsome, and he would also be a great friend, he saved Sue Ellen enough times. He was her hero.

Because he's handsome, caring and protective. But I'm much more attracted to JR, he's sexier

Because Bobby was the All-American hunk and the one with the moral compass, women love that!

It would have been interesting to see how the average housewife would have reacted towards Hagman had he been 15 years younger when Dallas started...while he still had that goofy, cutie-pie Major-Nelson-look...

I'll tell you how I would have reacted. Oh wait, we've already discussed this at length!

Bahbeh is handsome and caring, but he's also jealous, conceited and bossy. Which you don't know until you spend time with him. J.R. however, lays it all out on the table right away. Which would you prefer to fool around with?

    Beet! You don't count...

You are a LH fanatic...I said 'the average housewife'!

(PS: Bobby doesn't fool around...you would have to marry him to sleep with him!)

Bobby is the perfect man. Hot, nice, sweet and faithful, not to mention stable and rich.
I could see Katherine's obsession being partially rooted in her hatred of Pam, wanting maybe subconscously, to be Pam, or at least wanting everything Pam had.

    "The Rake

A woman never quite feels desired and appreciated enough. She wants attention, but a man is too often distracted and unresponsive. The Rake is a great female fantasy figure - when he desires a woman, brief though that moment may be, he will go to the ends of the earth for her. He may be disloyal, dishonest, and amoral, but that only adds to his appeal. Unlike the normal, cautious male, the Rake is delightfully unrestrained, a slave to his love of women. There is the added lure of his reputation: so many women have succumbed to him, there has to be a reason. Words are a woman's weakness, and the Rake is a master of seductive language. Stir a woman' s repressed longings by adapting the Rake's mix of danger and pleasure."

"...a women may succumb to the Rake through her yearning to be free of the constraints of virtue and decency."

He was handsome, decent, rich, young, caring. I could see why they would fall in love with him. I mean, Katherine was nuts, you can't really try analyze what she was thinking. Holly Harwood- well, she was in a business dealing with a lot of old oilmen, she probably didn't come across someone like Bobby very often.
