Eileen Davidson's Employment?

I know for sure she's been let go from Y&R, but can someone else confirm this?

Perhaps DAYS is keeping this completely hush hush, but it seems odd that none of the normal sites I visit for behind the scenes info have even hinted at this. I read an interview where Matthew Ashford (Jack) said she was coming back, but I'd really like real confirmation before I start celebrating.

This is 100%, but there's no point in confirming it since DAYS is like 4-5 months ahead in filming so it's going to probably October or November before she airs

. That's the bad thing about these plans to save DAYS. T hen again she may be secretly filming like Lisa Rinna did, but Y&R hasn't even begun hinting at her exit story yet.

Hopefully this will bump up Days ratings, Davidson fans coming over from Y & R.

I personally think she would have a longer stint and more job security if she stayed on Y & R, wonder what the actress thinks ?

Thank you both! Well the good news is, Sony owns both Y&R and DAYS. So if/when DAYS gets cancelled, she can slide right back into Y&R without much trouble.

I think they learned their lesson with John. Don't kill off the Abbotts, it comes back to bite you. I think she'll get so fed-up with Abby's latest stunt, she'll leave town.

Eileen Davidson is in a unique situation. Y&R's Ashley is popular, and Days's Susan/Kristen, et. al is/are equally popular, just in a different way. Ashley was even fairly popular during her time on B&B. Davidson has never had a reputation as being difficult to work with, and she's demonstrated over the years/decades that she handles dry spells as a supporting player just as happily as she does incredibly difficult work loads as a leading character (or two).
Everywhere she goes, she tends to strike gold with viewers.

I think having Susan back on Days would make sense in a short-term (13 or 26 weeks) story, but she's best in small doses. If they want ED back for good, I think they'd have to bring back Kristen.

I definitely agree about Kristen. Her return would give John and Marlena something to do. Marlena has entertaining interactions with Sami and Will, but John has nothing. And the constant snogging of John and Marlena is such a snore. You can tell Deidre Hall isn't into it either. Bringing back Kristen could add trouble to their relationship.

As for Susan, I agree too. She shouldn't move back to town, but she definitely needs to visit.

Like I suspected, we have to wait until October! I do hope this spices things up for John and Marlena. I just hate the show is writing off Carrie and Austin, a couple that FINALLY won me over with this latest return. The lack of those two or a story for Billie really infuriate me. I hope the new writers use Billie more than MarDar.

One thing though, with this latest plan to save DAYS, it sucks that they film so far in advance so we have to wait to see the positive changes. Hopefully the new writers start out with a bang. They can't go on the Olympics hiatus on a wimper or nobody will return.

Now is the perfect time for an ED return. Kristin, Susan, Sister Mary Moira, & Thomas are still out there (though Penelope is dead).

As far as LR's lack of screentime.......I wonder if it is because she said that Joseph Mascolo was the worst actor on DOOL when she was on the Andy Cohen Show?

The show is filmed so far in advance it wouldn't matter, plus that appearance on Watch What Happens Live got DAYS a lot of promo. In fact, her return got them a lot of talk show appearances. There was never a story in place they just brought her back with no purpose. It's a shame because the ratings DID go up when she initially returned.

Quick guess: Susan will show up in town trying to explain why she has been hiding out in England and resume some of the relationships she had with Salemites. EJ and John will be especially suspicious but decide to forgive and forget, since she's so...well, pathetic. And just when you think Susan has managed to repair the damage, it turns out it's really Kristen posing as Susan, planning her revenge, and the real Susan is still hiding out in England...until she learns that "Susan" is in Salem and has to head back to foil that meanmeanmean Krist-ann's plan.

I doubt they will have the audacity of Reilly in the storytelling, but they will try and it will be...marginally successful. I just hope they are not foolish enough to pin all their hopes and dreams of renewal on one actress. They've already brought back everyone short of Frances Reid and it has not helped much.
