Coincidences?

I saw an interview the main writer and she said that she watched hours of the old shows in order to satisfy the older, Trekkie-like Dallas fans. So I noticed a few coincidences and I'm wondering if these were purposeful. Some people on these boards think the writers didn't do their homework, but I'm hoping that they did. Probably not a big deal, but did you notice these and any others?
1. Christopher and Rebecca (new bride) sped away in a black sports car... just like B and P always did.
2. We don't know for sure the true identities of Rebecca and Tommy... we just know that they are up to something that started two years ago and that Rebecca is more reluctant. Some people think they are from the Barnes family... Just like Cliff and Pam were brother/sister and Pam was always less hung-ho than Cliff to go after the Ewings.
3. Didn't the Dallas prequel end with a young, drunken Digger laughing to himself about how Southfork was actually sitting on a ton of oil because he had some kind of rare oil-smelling gift?

I believe the writer said it was no coincidence that Christopher's wife was named Rebecca. Anybody named Rebecca has to be either from the Barnes or Wentworth family. I am not sure if Rebecca and Tommy are children of Katherine Wentworth's or Cliff Barnes or somehow related to Cliff Barnes. I think the old timer viewers (myself included) would appreciate if the Barnes Ewing feud reignited. It just wouldn't be Dallas without it.

I acually think its cliff and afton's daughter..and tommy is afton and a later husbands son. afton and her husband were killed in an accident..rebecca doesnt know cliff is hr real father. thats just my theory.

Since the show picks up at the end of the series, I'm thinking Tommy is Carter McKay's daughter's son, named after her brother, and he probably blames Bobby for killing his uncle in the OS.

I appreciate the fact that Cynthia took on Dallas to bring it back. Could other writers have done better? Probably, but they didn't bring back Dallas. She is the one who fought to bring it back, and for that I am grateful.
