Default Caprica: The Cylon creation begins...

A spin off from Battlestar and it's set some 50 years before the fall. That's as far as my knowledge on the show goes. I really like starting a new show with as little knowledge as possible; only so I can spend time trying to figure out what is going on in the pilot.

I was a little thrown by the virtual reality head gear, not realising that the night club scene wasn't real...Or was it..?

It looks like some kind of holodeck which is brilliant, the fun one can have with something as far advanced as this.

Ben unzipping his jacket to reveal he was wired up with a bomb was mind-blowing, the whole CGI in that scene was awesome and if this is a taste of what is to come I'm already on the edge of my seat.

Daniel's discovery of what Zoe was working on kept me on edge. It's one of those moments a parent has whereby you wonder if you should stop looking for fear of stumbling on something that might make you look at your child in a different way, though I didn't want him to stop looking.

Not only are Zoe’s parents grieving her loss but some enforcement officer appears accusing Zoe of terrorism…

Later it’s revealed that Daniel is working on creating a Cybernetic Lifeform… A Cylon! This is great.

Daniel downloads Zoe’s avatar into the Cylon, only he loses it, though we see at the closing credits that Zoe is in the Cylon or she is the Cylon….

When the head of Zoe’s school is played by Polly Walker you know you’re in for a real treat.

Zoe’s mum now believing her daughter was a terrorist announces to the world that Zoe was part of the cult STO.

Daniel moves the Cylon prototype into his home, what this means for Zoe I have no idea, but I can’t wait to find out.

Isn't it fascinating. It's a brilliant example of a show that's about character but has a terrific plot driven through it like a ten ton truck.

It's a slow burn though, lots is always happening but it really explores its territory. When things do kick off BSG style it feels huge. I'm really glad they didn't go in all guns blazing despite the incredible opening scenes....

Polly Walker is great, they re tooled her, she gets a lot better half way in. So many brilliant details will be revealed, the different cultures of each world are used really well at just the right times.

If you can, listen to the commentary's they are really interesting.

    Noooo

My whole viewing schedule as been tossed out the window because it's Big Brother season. I think I'm about 6 episodes in and I need to get back into this. My aim would be finishing it before we go on holiday in a couple of weeks.

    I will pretend I didn't hear this.

But I think I am worse...I decided this morning that I have found my new Lost. It's Dallas 2012! The show is far from being brilliant but I keep thinking about the show. There are no mysteries to solve but I like many of the characters, I care for them and I can't wait for the next episode to come around.

It's not as brilliant as shows like Breaking Bad, Entourage, Big Love, etc...but the show has a big place in my heart. This is all that matters in the end. Whenever I watch an episode of Breaking Bad, etc, I stop thinking about it once the ending credits roll. But with Dallas 2012 it's different. I really care for these characters. I haven't been that excited about a show since Lost ended. It's not as big to me as Lost but I just wanna say, I can finally really care for a show again. I missed this feeling in the past two years.

Back on track and I'm now at the halfway point.

God, this is such a brilliant show. The moment when Daniel went up to U-87's face and whispered Zoe was awesome.

Daniel trying to get Zoe to talk was very tense and I thought she had shot the dog!

It's all really kicking off now, with Zoe killing the geeky guy and escaping. Amanda throwing herself off the bridge, I'm guessing she's now dead! Tamara has just shot her Dad in the virtual reality and Zoe crashing into the barricade causing the truck to rip apart, not sure what condition the U-87 is in now.

I really didn't make the connection between Joseph's guide and Evelyn.

Barnabas using Lacy to kill Clarice was genius, but I did suspect she would be out of the car when the bomb would go off. The guy in there with her looked awfully like Roslin's assistant Billy in Galactica...

The setting is top notch and the technology, well I always thought I was born a couple of centuries too early.

Yes, it's so good and it just gets better.... it's such a rich tapestry of a show, I'm guessing you're now halfway through. The show takes a really different turn for the second half of the season if i remember correctly. Be interesting to see if you like it...... I feel the need to re watch this show.

I've just watched Unvanquished and thought it was brilliant. The stadium blowing up was unbelievable and yet incredible mind-blowing.

Amanda is still alive and the U-87 has been boxed up. Zoe now known as a Deathwalker was a great twist. That place where Clarice went was fab and the Mother has given Clarice full control over all STO operations.

I love the direction this has taken and look forward to watching the final pieces when I return from my hols. Can't wait to see what happens.

Yes, Clarice went to some monastery in Gemeron, though I'm not sure that's the correct spelling.

I haven't noticed Adama's mother in law, or if I have, I hadn't made the connection. I need to look out for her.

I'm really happy at where I'm leaving this show, this last episode saw quite a turn around and the bigger picture feels really exciting.

Now the holiday is over and both Olympics and Paralympics along with Celebrity Big Brother I can get back to enjoying this delight of a show, or should that be brutal?

I will return to the soil, but not before sending you to the soil. I love that phrase.

I watched the last episode again, not just for a re-cap but because I remembered how great it was. This led me to my own mini marathon last night.

So Amanda really is alive that one I didn't see coming. Then some Fed/CIA/Miami Vice or Miami Sound Machine guy found Amanda and convinced her that Clarice was behind the bombing and not Zoe. He (now known as Jordan) quickly became a fave character with me, every time he wanted Amanda to go that step closer to uncovering the truth I was on edge hoping Clarice wouldn't catch her out.

I guessed that when Jordan gave up his C.I. that it was going to be that pregnant women, though the show tried to imply otherwise. Once Clarice found out she slit the woman's through...Brutal! This was the point where I thought they wouldn't kill off Amanda, she is vital to the whole story, yet earlier in the series I accepted she was dead from jumping off the bridge.

Clarice started killing all those involved in the attempted assassination but spared Lacy and sent her to Gemeron. They were abducted by some ruthless gang who decided to kill the kids off one by one. Now this really is brutal! Again I was fooled by the show as it was revealed that the whole attack was part of some initiation...

The back story on the Adama's was brilliant and brutal. Their mother killed and then young Joseph killed his father!!

    This show is brutal!

Jordan now relieved of duty had still been followed and shot and now Clarice is aware her bands have been replaced, she knows Amanda is behind it and then pregnant woman was innocent....

    RomanainCaprica I like it

I've two episodes left and I'm planning to watch them tonight, when everyone has gone to bed.

I've really enjoyed this show, more than Galactica which I didn't think was possible.

OMFG! That was one massive head rush!

    How fantastic was that finale?

You know when you're into something really good when you're sat on the edge of your seat in shock because William Adama was shot and you're in some time warp thinking that can't be, he can't die, he has a mission.... Then you're greeted with a black screen and the name Ronald D. Moore appears. Eh? But it can't be over, it's only been on about 15 minutes. That's how great that episode was. It was like I had been in some trance.

Man the tension there throughout, when Clarice had smashed her way into the Graystones house. All the while they are sat there with the bands on I was hyperventilating..

When I was a kid I always wanted my own K-9 and now as an adult I want my own Serge. Oh that was just terrible the way he went down....

The drama continues when the trainers ordered that guy to kill Lacy. I couldn't believe my eyes when he turn the gun on them and there was no bullets in it..

The finale was simply breathtaking, I didn't know how I was going to cope. The pressure as the Graystones flee the hands of those at the GDD, not so easy when their faces are on every bulletin calling them terrorists. The scenes where the Cylons land on the pitch and start shooting at the suicide bombers was like something out of a movie. In fact the last few episodes were much better than the last three installments of Star Wars.

I had no idea how long was left on the episode, only I sat there panicking that it was going to end without full closure, my heart was racing unaware of any thoughts on how it was going to end.

Then I never even thought about Adama having another kid, so much was going on that my brain stopped functioning.

That has to be up with there with the likes of Blake's 7, Lost and PCBH in the greatest of series finales.

What's more I'm already yearning to watch it again. Last night when I went to bed it's all that was on my mind and I started to feel somewhat depressed because no longer will these characters been seen together again.

Haha yes it's just a brilliant ride, it's a shame it wasn't given a second season , I think it was just as groundbreaking as BSG . It took it to the next level. I must re watch it , can't remember all that happened but I d remember the two Adamas! That was breathtaking , I was so stressed out watching that too really worried that the ep would end with no resolution tithe Adama death! Yeah just fab fab fab
