What do you think of the new Mrs.Bobby Ewing?

Brenda Strong is a good actress, and her scenes with PD have some likabilty,but I hope as the episodes progress her backround will be fleshed out.
How long have they been married? Is she a Texan ect.
With the whiplash pace of the first two shows it is hard to judge.
J.R. seems to like her, could be a interesting backstory,of course in J.R.'s mind anyone would be better that Pamela Barnes Ewing!

i FOUND HER DULL...THAT WAS THE WRITING AND DIRECTION THOUGH..NOT bRENDA sTRONG. LETS HOPE THEY GIVE HER MORE OF A CHARACTER.

Trying too hard to be Miss Ellie Lite so I don't really have a feel for her. I'll need to see her in more scenes with meatier dialogue.

She didn't do much. Although SE didn't do much either, I found the few SE scenes more interesting.

NOT A LOT!!

bland, smug and in cheesy scenes with a shotgun
think its her kinda patronising, smug smile that puts me off and she is rather icy and cold

never seen her in anything before, dont know her at all and dont recall her one off stint with Cliff Barnes long ago but she aint doing it for me and dont see the wonderful chemistry with pat D that they gush about

Pat D had great chemistry with Victoria P and Priscilla P on Dallas - (i think he looks rather bored in the first 2 epiosdes) - time will tell if my sentiments change but i tend to go with my first instincts and Im not too optimistic it will change either!!

And It feels wierd that Victoria is not on the show with the other vets.. she should be there too..

Any idiot...or toddler...can pick up a shotgun but she definitely doesn't know how to handle one to look convincing. BBG probably never held a rifle/shotgun before but she convinced me that she knew how to use one...BS definitely didn't. Don't even get me started on her pulling off her alleged background as a cutting horse trainer.

I think the powers that be have essentially set Brenda up for failure...they gave her too hefty a background for Brenda's capabilities. They should have just had her be a city girl like Pam and tried to give her interesting, fiesty dialgue, etc.

In the future, apparently they're going to say that Ann was physically/emotionally abused before and it's supposed to play violin music on our heartstrings.

And that is the problem. We never get to see this so how are we supposed to care? There is no emotional buildup to the characters. I can't care about Christopher and Elena because we never saw their relationship in the first place. With JR/Sue Ellen or Pam/Bobby we saw everything they went through so it made us care.

Well anything's better than the raving pyschotic looney that was Pam. I like Ann, hopefully this talk of being abused won't have her turn out the same. She and Bobby look happy. Let it be.

The only psychotic on the old show was Katherine, unless you have specific instances to show us how utterly psychotic Pam was, but I bet you don't.

LOL, well bless BBG's beautiful, deceased heart but I have to say...she doesn't look very convincing in that pic.

Though, she looks young so we'll say she was inexperienced at that point.

That is very true. We have seen all the ups and downs of both JR/SE and Pam/Bobby. So that's the reason I am more excited about seeing JR/SE return than Bobby & his new wife. I so look forward to watch the new JR & Sue Ellen scenes. From the trailer I got a feeling their story is not over...

Still I haven't seen the episodes yet, will watch it tomorrow, but I promise to give Ann a chance. Who knows I might like her...

Ann is a dull character. The problem is she can't be Miss Ellie. They should not even try. She has to be a brand-new fresh character.

The problem is Dallas remains stuck in its own cliches.

Also I agree, Ann can never be Miss Ellie, since Miss Ellie was the matriarch of a family where the parents had been married for 30 + years and had three sons in common. It was a different sort of family then than the Ewings are today in the next generations where divorces, second and third wives and half-siblings and step-siblings are all the more common. Then again I think that sort of reflects society on a whole...
