It's 2012 for God's sake...everything looks like stuck in the year 2000. I could understand if it was the average Joe, but we're talking about high-society-rich people here...
They modeled them after real homes in Dallas, I read. The first episode at least, was filmed in the actual home, then sets built in Dallas to match.
I wish they had just rebuilt the sets to match the original interior. Am wondering if they'll explain the difference in the first episode, a remodel ? fire ?

So, pictures did not do the sets justice? Good. I was hoping that what shows up on the screen would look grander or have a richer texture to it. 10 more days till I can finally watch and enjoy.

Quite nice. A little disappointed that there are no faces but, as others have already noted, they could have dispensed with an opening title altogether.

Yes. That is true. So, I guess we should all be glad that they decided to do what they did... after all, it is a more refreshed, faster paced opening and the music is great with the drums... just wish that at the 17 second mark it was a little different. BUT I'm very satisfied.

Well, the only quibble I have is with the "DALLAS" in white but i'm sure that'll be changed to gold by the time it airs.
Other than that the only thing I didn't really like was the that theme seemed a bit "subdued" so to speak. It didn't quite have the bombast that I remember but all in all this was a pretty good opening. Perhaps if there's a season 2 they'll do some tweaks, lengthen it a bit and show the cast.
Can't wait to see this!

I stand by that:
mainly because they have had 2 years to come up with amazing ideas for the opening titles. The DALLAS logo dosn't have any shine to it - I understand what some have said about it being gold in the premiere which is great, but a few lens flares wouldn't hurt.
I like the way the text go into some of the buildings, that is brilliant. - The Dallas logo scrolls too fast and needs to be slowed down.

Bullseye! That is absolutely true right there. After all, if the current Five-0 can have "Based on Hawaii Five-O created by Leonard Freeman," then why can't this new Dallas have words to the effect of "Based on Dallas originally created by David Jacobs"?

There are no production credits at all in it - just the cast. I understand that it has been decided that there will be a "created by David Jacobs" credit so I assume we will see that and the rest supered over the following scenes.

I love that the new Dallas has an opening theme. But I really miss seeing the faces of the actors in the opening credits. Now if they could just add those it would be perfect.
I don't care if the text color is white instead of gold. Just give me the faces!
Also another current show that has faces in their opening credits is "Bones".
