Fans

I am so sick of people coming into work (this IS Ireland by the way not Mexico!) and putting on a fan which blows out freezing cold air when the place is just at a nice temperature. This is usually because they have walked some distance in unreasonable clothing.

We have the opposite. It's always "too cold" in the office area so they bring in heaters. I get to work in a 50-60 degree room that has to stay that temp so I just wear layers. Are all your coworkers inconsiderate?

Have you asked them to stop? Tell them to wear summer clothing.

I have a similar problem in class because everyone is always hot except for me. So they bring lots of fans into the room and turn it into an icecave.

first thing i ever do in any hotel is find the air con and switch it off

I hate cold air! and if we put a fan on in our dept it blows everything away within 10 feet away!!

Not for me, I like the heat!

I thought this was going to be a thread about people acting like crazy fans and such

I suggest storing an extra jacket or something in case, and if possible, point the fan in THEIR direction so if anything gets blown away it's their stuff. Karma.

Believe it or not, we aren't allowed fans in our offices because of health and safety issues.

I think they should be outlawed. Fresh air, not recycled air, is the way to go. Too many places now don't allow you to open windows. Our windows cannot be opened. People keep getting sick with sinus infections, colds, chest infections. It's down to the fans!

Would you believe me if I told you that there is a knife like this sitting on the desk across from me? Someone used it to cut a cake with the other day and it's still there. Luckily everyone I work with is stable. I think.
