Problems securing a fourth judge for the X Factor.
I didn't know Dannii hadn't signed up, I thought it was a done deal.
I've recently read they will be guest judges right up to boot camp, names mentioned Alica Keys, Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams, Gwen Stefani
Katy Perry, Rihanna and Nicole Scherzinger have all turned down the chance to be guest judges.
While a permanent judge is unlikely to be found before Boot Camp, former Spice Girls Geri Halliwell and Mel B, The Saturdays singers Frankie Sandford and Rochelle Wiseman and Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon are all said to be in the frame.

I read that Dannii wanted £5,000,0000 so ITV walked away. They had offered her a £1,000,000 deal.
I'm quite happy that Kelly is not returning but it's a shame they've decided to sign up Tulisa for a second year; I did not take to either of the female judges last year.
It's such a shame that Dannii couldn't be persuaded to return to the panel as I've always felt that she was one of the better judges on the show. It's ITV's own fault for foolishly dumping her from the programme in the first place.
Of those being touted as the potential 4th judge I think I'd like to see Alesha Dixon get the job. But please don't let it be one of the Saturdays.

I thought because Tulisa won last year they felt they had to give her another go.

Looks like Geri Halliwell has been confirmed the fourth judge, she starts with them tomorrow.
I suppose this will give the show some consistency now.

I believe that they've lined up a number of guest judges for the auditions but that Geri is the favourite to get the job after the auditions have finished. She's judging the Liverpool rounds today.
Mel B who is a judge on the Australian version of the show has been lined up to do the Manchester auditions.
To be fair, either would be an improvement on Kelly Rowland IMO.

How in the name of good God is Geri Halliwell an improvement on Kelly Roland? Do you remember her on Popstars? She was an annoying drama queen and she has as much talent as a packet of cheesey watsits. I liked Geri a bit back then but she can't really sing and has actually been a failure as a pop star! Her follow up album bombed and she has made such epic musical mistakes as covering Raining Men. A song originally recorded by two soulful, gospel singing belters with a range that could blow you into orbit. To say that Geri has limited vocal range would be the hugest of understatements. She makes Danni Minogue sound like a Mezzo Soprano by comparrison.
It will all be about Geri and I really don't want to hear her forced fake version of what an upper class lady sounds like voice natter on about her artists. She is the ultimate attention whore.
At least Kelly could sing, and has had a pretty decent run of chart succes of late. Please don't start me on Mel B.
Just pull the plug on X factor.... It's on life support but it's not alive. It will never again be what it once was. The game is up. We all know now winning it means NOTHING!

I'm confused by all these 'Guest Judges' I thought Geri Haliwell was confirmed as the fourth judge.
Are they planning on giving some of the judges a few weeks off during the auditions?

I'm not sure if she's been confirmed or whether she's just the favourite to get it.
My understanding is that Gary, Tulisa and Louis will be present at all the auditions and that Geri was only judging the Liverpool rounds which were all recorded on wednesday. Mel B is doing the Manchester auditions and Nicole Scherzinger the ones in London.
However, I get the impression that all the auditions are taped within a pretty fast turnaround. I think they're doing the ones in London next week (over 3 days) and the Manchester rounds the week after (also over 3 days).

Ah.. Now I follow...

I was reading today that it now seems unlikely that Geri will land the 4th spot on the judging panel.
It's been reported that the Liverpool auditions did not go well and it's felt that Geri had little chemistry with the other judges.
Apparently Rita Ora and Leona Lewis are judging the London rounds

Oh what a desperate mess!

It's been reported today that ex X Factor USA judge, Nicole Scherzinger who guest judged the London rounds on Wednesday will now be offered the 4th spot on the UK show.
