I'm assuming the live ep will be one hour long because they're certainly packing a lot into it, apparently there will be a wedding, a birth and a death. Most of the action will take place in the Emmerdale village. The strange thing is that the episode before will have been filmed in August (summer), as they film 8 weeks in advance of screening, with the live ep being screened in october (autumn), there's bound to be some differences in the landscape. The ep after the live one, we'll be back in August again.
Like Ive said before, live eps, whats the point ?
Apparently too, the producers want to make the show more urban, introduce more younger character and jazz up the sets a little, so it looks like there are many changes ahead for Emmerdale as it approaches it's 40th birthday.
